Manager - Data Protection - BPO/ITeS (10-15 yrs)

Mandatory: Candidate should be into the legal field only.

Responsibilities:

- Assist and be part of team for India operations to help monitoring compliance in India with applicable data protection legislation/regulations (including the GDPR), the Personal Data Protection Global Policy, Binding Corporate Rules and other global policies relating to data protection implementation of the Personal Data Protection Global Policy and Binding Corporate Rules policies within the entities and guidance and recommendations issued by the global data protection network;

- Changes to and implementation of (new) data protection laws (including the GDPR) in the countries where the entities are located including policies, procedures and/or guidance;

- Assisting in periodic review of (changes in) legislation, policies, procedures and/or guidance, maintaining, coordinating and instructing a local data protection network with data protection subject matter experts in the various locations

- Help identify and evaluate emerging data protection risks and proposing solutions to address such risks

- Providing assistance, advice with regard to privacy impact assessments (PIAs) relating to applications and processes used by the entities, specifically with regard to: Whether or not a PIA needs to be carried out; What safeguards to apply to mitigate and risks to the rights and interests of the data subjects; Whether or not a PIA has been correctly carried out and whether its conclusions (whether or not to go ahead with the processing and what safeguards to apply) are in compliance with data protection framework and applicable data protection legislation

- Assist and set up processes in India which provides timely and adequate response to data loss and personal data breaches (in accordance with the Loss/Theft Global Guidance and local requirements)

- Respond timely and appropriately to requests of data subjects in India invoking their rights (such as right to access, port or delete their personal data)

- Be available for inquiries from data subjects and regulators

Competencies / Skills:

- Very good communication skills in English as the role requires communication within entities in India and the other 4 countries that is currently operating

- Good coordination skills as the role involve working continuously with external parties to

- Experience and qualification:

- Preference of IAPP CIPP/E certification (preferably in combination with a CIPM certificate) or a comparable designation;

- Experience of dealing with Data protection related matters associated with operations in Europe based group companies as part of the role in India

- Key job responsibility relates to Data Protection related activities in India

- Knowledge and experience of dealing with India and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the regulations around India data protection and GDPR

- Experience as part of the team in a corporate set up providing data protection consultation/advice to the business teams;

- Ability to develop a quickly good understanding of the processing operations carried out by the, as well as the information systems, and data security and data protection needs

- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in Data protection related areas, understanding of GDPR related matters is preferred
