Manager - Cross Border - International Trade (10-15 yrs)

Job Summary :

- The successful Cross Border Manager will be able to analyze and interpret laws and follow the process and deadlines to integrate those laws into the product. This role will work closely with other members of the local Pune team, as well as with U.S. team members.

- The candidate must be flexible to overlap work timings with global timings, as needed.

Management:

Enhance a world class team consisting of 10 to 15 team members, by coaching and empowerment of assigned employees. Project ownership, including quality, project deadlines and milestones. Multidirectional communication. Representation for cross border team as the responsible party in assigned groups. Performance management and goal setting. Act in concert with peers in a connected team of synergistically aligned teams. Foster a culture of ownership, employee engagement, and mutual support.

Domain Expertise:

Assisting other team members in the interpretation or synthesis of complex trade regulatory information. Mapping of compliance and taxability information to HS codes & other fees & duties applicable to Cross Border. Expertise in professional client support, for example classification determination, duty determination, restrictions & regulations determination. Constructive review of research, data, and determinations of other team members. Acceptance testing of configurations loaded into systems. Ability to represent team as a subject matter expert for internal and external meetings.

Regional Owner:

Production of comprehensive summaries of team assigned countries. Monitor trade organisations and governmental websites for updates across assigned region. Locating, collecting, and synthesising trade information from governments, international trade organisations and other trade sources across the region. Act as final reviewer and approver for content updates.

Qualifications:

- Degree or equivalent work experience

- Minimum of 10 years related experience in Cross Border, HS classification domain.

- Minimum of 4 years related experience in managing Cross Border team.

Necessary :

A demonstrated background in international trade. Trade information research experience. Familiarity with Harmonised System, Rules of Origin, and Import and Export documentation. Ability to produce high-quality independent legal research. Flexibility to work as part of global content delivery team. Strong analytical skills. Strong English writing and verbal communication skills. Possess excellent time management and organisational skills. Exceptional attention to detail required. Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to work well in a (non-collocated team) team environment. Ability to excel in and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment Available to work hours in line with global team's time zones as required. Natural interest in cross border commerce coupled with an active desire to learn and share.

Desirable : 

Customs Broker's License (or local equivalent). Working literacy/proficiency with multiple global languages. Familiarity working with office productivity tools, and wikis. Previous experience with the big four accounting firms in the cross-border space.
