Manager - Corporate Planning - Agri (4-10 yrs)

- The Manager, Corporate Planning reports to the Director - Corporate Planning and is an integral part of a small team with responsibilities including managing corporate and strategic planning processes, developing the five-year and ten-year strategic plan, portfolio management and leading/running strategy projects in new growth initiatives.


- The role collaborates with key leaders across the business to deliver best in class corporate and strategic planning and support short and long-term objectives and leading market position.

- This position requires a qualified strategy professional with experience working for a major strategy/management consulting firm or in a corporate or business unit strategy group in a large organization. 


The candidate should have a track record of executing and/or leading growth strategy projects, market evaluation and opportunity assessments as well as preparing and presenting recommendations to senior leaders.

- The profile requires close working with the Director Corporate Planning, CEO, CFO and other senior Directors to plan and develop the Corporate Growth Strategies. The profile requires multi-tasking, ability to conceptualize, formulate and evaluate new business plans, create -update -follow up with internal teams, attention to detail, working under stringent deadlines. The profile provides exposure to diverse challenges facing the senior management.

- The ideal candidate should have strong capabilities in assessing various businesses, formulating business plans, evaluation of plans, financial modeling project funding; data comprehension & inference development; project management & team working.

Primary responsibilities :

1. Play an active and lead role in the development of the 5-year/10-year Business strategy for the Company which is active mainly in Africa, Middle East and Asia.

2. Participate in building of annual budget plan for approval of the senior management.

3. Assist in developing of the key strategic processes ensuring governance is designed and implemented to the desired state of maturity

4. Participate in the development, updating and communication of strategic and operational plans of the Company

5. Leading the execution of strategic evaluations of new market opportunities, potential acquisitions, competitive assessments, etc.

6. End-to-end project ownership including research (internal and externally supported), analysis, hypothesis formulation and testing, market and financial modeling, presentation development and delivery

7. Ensure that operational plans within Company are aligned with Company strategy

8. Develop a rapid response capability for ad hoc strategy tasks and executive decision support requirements

9. Support strategy review exercises with business units and formalize findings and recommendations

Education qualification and desired experience :

- Qualified Chartered Accountant/ MBA (Tier I B-school) with 4-10 years of experience in relevant field of corporate planning

- Ideally has experience as an associate in a top consulting firm.

- Strategic Framing & Analytics : Drives to get beyond the abstract and general to deliver rigorous, nuanced and actionable recommendations. Ability to deliver insightful data analysis & synthesis that uncovers customer and market opportunities.

- Project Management : Ability to plan and tightly manage the scope and life cycle of a project while balancing multiple stakeholders.

- Financial / Quantitative Analysis : Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models.

Skills required :


- Good knowledge of Agri-business markets is desired

- Strong time management skills

- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication / presentation skills using different sources of presentation media. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives and garner high levels of credibility

Travel : Approx. 30% travel

Compensation : Competitive (depending on the level of experience)
