1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Corporate Partnerships Manager, Educate Girls, Mumbai

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Educate Girls (a project of 'Foundation to Educate Girls Globally'), is a non-profit organization that focuses on mobilizing communities for the education of girls, in India's rural and educationally backward areas. Strongly aligned with 'Right to Education Act' or the 'Samagra Shiksha,' the organization is committed to the Government's vision to improve access to primary education for children, especially young girls.

Educate Girls operates successfully, in 20,000+ villages in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. By leveraging the Government's existing investment in schools and by engaging with a huge base of community volunteers, Educate Girls helps to identify, enrol and retain out-of-school girls and improve foundational skills in literacy and numeracy for all children (both girls and boys).

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Purpose & Resource Mobilization (SM-PRM), the Corporate Partnerships Manager (CPM) shall be responsible for leading resource mobilization from CSR initiatives/ Corporate Foundations in India, and meeting aggressive fundraising targets. The incumbent shall research, identify and connect with decision-makers in prospective donor organizations, prepare relevant proposals, deliver presentations and follow through till successful closure.

S/he will also be responsible for ensuring effective key account management of existing corporate donors, developing avenues for prospecting new clients, reviewing and finalizing donor reports and developing high-quality proposals.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategy Development

(1) Strategize and operationalize the annual fundraising strategy from corporate donors and meet targets in consultation with the SM-PRM;

(2) Execute the annual corporate fundraising plan for ensuring sustainable operations of the organization in consultation with the SM-PRM.

B. Donor Prospecting & Acquisition

(1) Lead the process of developing long-term strategic partnerships with corporates to fund the organization's projects and programmes;

(2) Meet senior management teams/ key decision-makers of potential corporate organizations, to explain Educate Girls' focus on different thematic areas and showcase the work currently being done at the grassroots;

(3) Ideate, discuss and explore different avenues, ideas, opportunities and mutual areas of interest with potential corporates;

(4) Represent Educate Girls in different corporate forums and events, CSR seminars and conferences, both nationally and internationally, and network with prospective corporates, to identify speaking opportunities and improve the visibility of the organization;

(5) Develop fundraising processes such as trackers, MIS reporting, budgets etc. Update and review prospect trackers, monthly proposal trackers, and weekly meeting calendars for the team, and provide inputs, as necessary;

(6) Make and review pitch presentations, case studies, and audios/ videos for showcasing existing interventions;

(7) Lead the process of developing products, campaigns and platforms for corporate fundraising, such as employee giving, cause-related marketing, events and so forth, keeping in mind the brand image of Educate Girls.

(C) Proposal Development

(1) Ensure the creation of proposals and concept notes and reports as per donor requirements and coordinate with the Programme Operations team, as required;

(2) Conceptualize and write proposals, providing key inputs and troubleshooting support in case of problems/ delays;

(3) Review final proposals to be sent to donors and ensure timely follow-up on the same.

(D) Partnership Agreements

(1) Review grant agreements/ contracts with corporate partners, and close with the designated functions with guidance from the Senior Manager;

(2) Ensure that agreements and contracts meet donor requirements, and at the same time comply with Educate Girls' systems, processes and ethical guidelines;

(3) Ensure effective grant contract management for corporate partners in terms of seeking extensions, or tracking under-spends, in close collaboration with the Senior Manager.

(E) Donor Management, Service & Retention

(1) Develop and implement a stewardship program for corporate partners, to ensure donor retention;

(2) Monitor the quality of corporate donor relationship management being provided and ensure quality outputs;

(3) Manage ongoing relationships by ensuring timely resolution of queries raised by corporate donors;

(4) Ensure that regular meetings are being scheduled with existing donors to provide them with programme updates and current programme status;

(5) Ensure regular interaction with other team members to share programme updates and exchange information regarding events, activities and new partnerships;

(6) Review and ensure the timely submission of donor reports to all corporate donors;

(7) Ensure timely, accurate and effective donor management, in terms of the standard processes, including the timely dispatch of tax certificates, sharing of annual reports, etc.;

(8) Initiate and encourage project visits for existing and prospective donors;

(9) Accompany some of the key large donors on field visits;

(10) Deal with sensitive/ critical donor feedback to pre-empt issues and manage sensitive relationships;

(11) Ensure effective key account management to enhance donor retention and receive grant extensions.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a post-graduate degree, preferably in Marketing, or Business Development, or other relevant field, from a reputed institution.

Experience:

(1) Applicants must have a minimum of four to five years of experience with demonstrated ability to steer resource mobilization for large scale organizations;

(2) Substantial experience in networking and collaboration with corporates and corporate CSR initiatives across the country.

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically;

(2) Excellent verbal and written communications skills;

(3) Proven track record of achieving targets and experience of the Indian Corporate CSR scenario and sound networking;

(4) Good understanding of the possibilities and tactics for influencing decision and policymakers, including prospective and existing donors and other key actors;

(5) Sound contextual knowledge of local issues, organizational relationships, social and cultural constraints and realities, and environmental conditions, Right to Education, Child

Psychology, and Community Motivation (preferable);

(6) Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships, collaborate with individuals in a culturally diverse setting and build consensus;

(7) Integrity towards work and ability to "know & do" what is right;

(8) Ability to work effectively and inclusively with a range of people, both within and outside of the organization;

(9) Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences at local, state and national levels;

(10) Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines;

(11) Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, adaptability and ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Proven capacity to supervise, train, coach and mentor staff;

(12) Empathy;

(13) Ability to work with international corporates and openness to work with diversified cultures.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
