POSITION SUMMARY:

- As the Manager, Consumer Insights - Advanced Analytics, you'll be a part of a newly formed team that will help develop the company's consumer analytics capabilities and partner across multiple lines of business as the company works to be more data-driven and consumer centric.

- To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong intellectual curiosity, be comfortable devising creative solutions to complex challenges, and capable of conducting rigorous analyses to create models based on our customer data that help the business drive more relevant content and develop/refine product.

- The role will entail the build out of a world class consumer analytics team as well as extensive programming/data wrangling of a customer transaction database comprised of multiple data sources in addition to a number of other ad-hoc data sources.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

- Build and develop a team of data analysts, scientists, and dashboard developers that are focused on uncovering relevant business insights

- Analyze large sets of data to distill key insights that should influence strategic decisions made in key product categories, customer experiences or business channels.

- Coordinate with different functional teams to support the ongoing development of our data model, the analytical environment (sandbox/production), implement models across the data ecosphere and monitor outcomes/performance of those models to drive continuous improvement

- Ensure that the team documents analytical findings and/or model rule sets and code bases for business continuity and clarity

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

- Six to eight years experience as a principle analytics lead, ideally within the retail, consumer insights, or a related quantitative field - retail or apparel experience is strongly preferred

- Three or more years experience in the development and implementation of statistical models in a production environment

Education:  BS/MS degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field

Skills:

- Management experience including building and developing a team and overseeing the outcomes of team work product

- Strong experience with machine learning packages within R, Python, or a related statistical programming language

- Strong experience using databases to pull and wrangle data

- Proven track record of delivering business relevant advanced modeling work including, but not limited to regression, customer segmentation, basket analysis, customer lifetime value, propensity model scoring, linear programming, and sentiment analysis

- Knowledge of a data visualization tool like Tableau, or comparable experience leveraging data visualization packages within R or Python (like: ggplot, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly)

- Understanding of business financials, ROI and profitability

- Strong communication skills; ability to discuss complex information in an easy-to-understand manner with clear recommendations based on data

- Team player; ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and team members in a proactive manner

- Adapts easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities

- Comfortable being part of a team that spans different time zones and locations
