Qualification : MBA from premier college and procurement/strategic sourcing experience. 

Function :

- The objective of Commercial Function is to drive quality and competitiveness advantage in a sustainable manner.


- Commercial (Procurement) function is responsible for maximizing value of company's money, ensuring quality & responsible supply, optimizing & protecting Supply Chain. In addition, Commercial function is also obligated to identify and create business opportunities for the company, leverage external resources to support business growth, new product development and sustainability.

Background :

- Commercial department consists of multiple procurement functional groups including : Regional Ingredient Sourcing, Regional Packaging Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Developing Geographies Sourcing, Supplier Quality Assurance & Management.


- Commercial function needs to work collaboratively and proactively with all key stakeholders e.g. Global Commercial, Global & Regional Finance, Regional Supply Chain & Factories, Regional & Global R&D, Regional QA to achieve company's business goals.

Ingredients Procurement Scope : 3 factories, ~ 84 items, 64 suppliers.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION :

- This position plays a supporting role in ingredients procurement for factories in India, including strategic sourcing, value leadership, risk mitigation and supplier management.


- The incumbent must work closely with all Regional Supply Chain Functions, Factories, R&D, Marketing and Business Operations at different levels, this position also needs to support all efforts to reduce and contain cost, guarantee food safety & quality and business growth.

Principal Activities Performed by the Incumbent :

- Implement the Strategic Sourcing Methodology (MSSM) in E-Sourcing and conduct supplier negotiations for regionally managed ingredients and complete Master Purchase Agreement (MPA) process with suppliers;

- Develop and maintain ongoing relationship with suppliers to continuously improve performance and service level;

- Track cost savings, supplier performance, payment terms and other KPIs of ingredients procurement.

- Monitor commodity market trend and develop procurement operation budget periodically and maintain standard prices accurately;

- Provide Price outlook to business to enable efficient profit planning and decision making

- Work closely with Global Procurement, Factory Managers, QA, Product Supply, R&D, Procurement Operations and Marketing to ensure continuity of supply and new product development.

- Lead new supplier site qualification projects thru collaboration with Supplier Quality Assurance team;

- Identify and implement cost improvement (Value Leadership) projects;

- Support Free Cash target delivery by inventory management initiatives, payment terms optimization and innovative supplier finance programs

- Drive Supplier Risk Management program by developing alternate suppliers/materials/recipes

- Support the implementation of sustainability programs for key commodities

- Participate in all required new projects such as integration and synergy initiatives

- Other tasks assigned by line-manager.

Requirements :

- This position requires a MBA with Ops or Materials Mgmt specialization and 5 to 6 years of direct material procurement working experiences in FMCG sector in India.

- Seasoned professional with a strong background in sourcing and supplier management.

- Strong understanding of the factors that impact procurement decisions.

- Skillful in contract negotiations, strategic sourcing models and supplier management;

- Solid computer knowledge and skills in ERP and Microsoft Office;

- Good communication skills including speaking, writing & presenting in English;

- Sound interpersonal skills and team-work style;

- Project management skills with technical/analytical competence.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

Travel - Upto 30% domestic travel
