Job Description :

The candidate would be responsible for the execution of designed occupational health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) systems across the firm at circle level to ensure compliance to company's HSSE standards and guidelines and applicable rules and regulations (covers occupational health and hazard, environment compliances, employee safety etc.), thereby focusing on mitigating the risk of injury, accidents and create a safe and health working environment. Work towards realization of Company's goal of "Zero Serious Safety Incidents" in its business.

Key Responsibilities :

- Displays agility in supporting across all national and regional HSSE projects by executing and implementing the pre-designed HSSE framework and tools in their circle

- Develops HSSE manuals, procedures, SOPs, scorecards and further ensures regular communication, training and cascade of this information to all stakeholders across the organization employees

- Drive excellence and problem solving focusing on risk elimination / mitigation

- Acts as both a member and an enabler to the HSSE Committee for the firm at the circle level

- Responsible for achieving the HSSE performance for the organization / circle by examining the leading and lagging indicators through analysis of inputs from stakeholders on various HSE parameters

- Establish and conduct HSSE governance with internal and external stakeholders on a monthly basis

- Responsible for implementation of permit work systems, score cards and all other HSSE tools

- Drives internal governance, by conducting cross-functional team reviews at circle level

- Project manage and deliver annual sustainability reporting projects in compliance with standards, guidelines and frameworks

- Provide technical or administrative support for sustainability programs or issues

- Participate / conduct studies around hazard identification, risk assessment etc., interpret results

- Maintains records of compliance and is responsible for ensuring timely reporting of data to region as well as corporate, for their suitable course of action

- Works with vendors/ O&M Partners to solve for any concerns regarding health and safety and drive closure of report findings

- Work towards creation of a sustainable culture of proactive incident reporting at all levels

- Creates and submits about 8 to 10 reports per month to internal and external stakeholders at region / national level

- Carry out detailed / in-depth incident investigations and drive implementation of corrective preventive actions across the circle

- Contributes to the HSSE campaigns run for the organization and trains internal and external stakeholders on various aspects of HSE.

- Delivers trainings around modules on safety, firefighting, mechanical and electrical safety, materials handling, usage of protective equipment, emergency preparedness, onsite emergency plan etc. as per the circle training plan

- Continue learning, enhance competence and remain updated / relevant to the HSSE risks, their mitigation at all times

- Supports in creation of training content and ensures the smooth delivery of content across the organization, to achieve the defined HSE performance levels.

- Responsible for conducting approx. 24 to 30 audits per month covering all geographies across circles.

- Ensures timely virtual audits and administers incident reporting, thereby reporting & maintaining records of compliance for both internal and external reporting purposes and drive corrective preventive actions appropriately

- Administer and coordinate with the cross functional internal / external teams to perform tasks in alignment with organization objectives and strategies at circle level

- Involves teamwork, communication, objective setting across different stakeholders at circle levels

- Identifies training needs and is responsible for coaching and mentoring the cross functional internal / external team members at circle level

- Implement interventions and initiatives along with stakeholders and further train employees in circle on various aspects of HSE

- Develop mechanisms for engagement with cross-function teams at circle

- Build rapport / align with key internal and external stakeholders to build a culture of proactive HSSE compliance

- Ensure execution and successful implementation of need-based HSSE training, emergency response plans across the organization

- Responsible for circle level governance, ensuring adherence to various legal and statutory requirements

Qualifications :

- MTech / M.E (Preferred)

- B.E (Preferred stream - Electrical/ Mechanical/ Civil/ Any field) (Mandatory)

- Diploma/ Certification in Environmental Management, Sustainability Health & Safety/ Industrial Safety (Advantageous)

Additional Technical Specifications/ Requirements :

- Understands the telecom sector landscape (Desirable /Preferred).

- Experience of having worked on large, complex, distributed projects / contracts.

- Working knowledge on ESG, HSSE legislation and audit practices.

- Quick conflict resolution/ decision making skills.

- Highly structured and process driven.

- Exposure on working across large geographically spread-out operations.

- Knack for automation and digitization to manage technologically advanced solutions.

- Trained on accident investigations and exposure in handling road safety, electrical safety, work and height safety etc.

- Self-motivated

- Knowledge and experience of working on MS Excel & PPT

- Strong analytical skills

- Role responsibility would require travel (approx. 10-12 days per month)
