Have been involved with the commercial & operational aspects of liner shipping, freight forwarding, NVOCC & 3PL
- Key account management towards maintaining & enhancing client relationships with ultimate responsibility for pricing & optimizing yield generation for major accounts
Revenue Generation : Identify and develop major corporate accounts, cultivate the agency network for further revenue generation and thus enhance market share within the defined area of responsibility.
Business Development : Source and acquire new clients, maintain good business relationships with current pool of clients, establish marketing/sales campaigns in liaison with the Group Commercial team in order to identify new leads and enhance business for the location.
Market Intelligence : Maintain awareness of the developments across the industry and communicating the results of market research to the Commercial and Sales / Marketing teams locally and regionally to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective policies and approaches.
Leadership : Ensure the effective achievement of Marine Services departmental objectives through the leadership of these teams - allocating resources, setting individual objectives, and managing performance.
Safety, Quality and Environment : Monitor compliance with all relevant safety, quality and environment procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible attitude in accordance with HSSQE Policies.
Budget & Cost Control : Prepare, gain acceptance and monitor implementation of the annual budget for location to ensure that the budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and fixed costs are minimized and controlled.
Streamlining Operations : Recommend improvements to the departmental policy and ensuring the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of activity.
Project Management : Identify project scope, completion date, team members, sponsors and clients in order to mobilize internal resources (operations, financial modelling, etc.).
Debt Control : Follow up and monitor the turnaround of disbursement accounts and debt collection with the purpose of maintaining a low average of DA's dates, debtors and credit periods within company set guidelines.
Data Integrity and Quality : Monitor and evaluate the accuracy and timely updates of POPDA, PASP, YourISS2 systems in order to meet principals- requirements and key performance indicators within company set parameters.
Reporting : Prepare and submit of Monthly Management Reports in order to provide updates on departmental performance and any deviation from company set objectives. Ensure monthly submission of all other operational, commercial and quality assurance reports.
- Participate in conference calls, meetings and offsite meetings, overseas sales visits as required to ensure Customers receive the best possible experience. Ensure accurate and timely updating of CRM and all in house reporting systems.
