Manager - Brand Development + Consumer Insights + Value Chain B2B (10-15 yrs)

The job holder should not only be extremely conversant with the fundamentals of brand and marketing concepts and frameworks, but also have relevant experience in other B2B organizations of having created and built strong brands and seen results. This role will need highly competent people with experience straddling brand building in B2B businesses with a defined level of expertise in the field so as to speak the language and ensure buy-in across businesses

The challenges of the job are therefore -

1. Ability to understand strategic vision and ensuing operating plans of primarily B2B group businesses

2. Ability to understand the dynamics of a B2B business and their interplay with a larger value chain, that goes beyond their immediate customer

3. Identify clear spaces to deliver branding solutions, in line with the larger business vision/ plans, enabling the business to grow market/ share and charge a premium

4. Partner businesses to deliver the solutions using marketing best practices

5. Support/Lead interactions with creative and marketing consultants/agencies for the businesses

6. Provide overall support to the project while driving marketing excellence through best-in-class marketing teams best suited to help company raise the standards of marketing excellence

B2B facing businesses do have existing approaches and plans for brands. However, as the market develops and changes, its inherently not easy to switch gears and often move beyond one approach.

Approaching the market keeping the customers needs at the centre is not a deeply ingrained process across most businesses. Hence there will be an initial challenging period during which businesses
