Manager/Assistant Manager - Legal - LLB - Media/IT (3-10 yrs)
Opening with Leading MNC (Corporate) - Mumbai.
POSITION: Assistant Manager/Manager
DEPARTMENT: Legal
REPORTING TO: Vice President
CONTEXT: Support the Legal team in litigation, corporate and IPR related matters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Commercial work:
- Demonstrated (hands on experience) subject matter knowledge in structuring, drafting, negotiating and closing all types of transactions;
- Agreements such as - rights acquisition documents (e.g. media rights, television rights, digital rights), sponsorship agreements, production contracts, artist / commentator agreements, Inter-company contracts
- Building contract and compliance checklist and processes
- Assisting in litigation w.r.t. the technical, corporate and commercial legal issues
Legal Advisory work;
- Providing sound and practical legal advice pertaining to all the above mentioned litigation, corporate and commercial legal issues inter alia under contract law, property law, IT / IPR laws, anti-trust law, foreign exchange, banking issues etc.
- Research and analysis of various policies, amendments, bills, consultation papers, notifications, court related judicial pronouncements w.r.t. litigation, corporate, commercial, IPR and competition law matters.
Litigation:
- Demonstrated (hands on experience) subject matter knowledge in dealing with litigation matters - civil, criminal, company, arbitration, IPR and anti-trust matters:
- Drafting of pleadings - writ petitions, plaints, complaints, written statements, company petitions, appeals, revisions, winding up petitions, statements of claim etc. before trial courts, High Court(s), Supreme Court;
- Strategizing and formulating litigation strategy in line with commercial objectives of the company;
- Drafting responses to notices relating to IPR infringement, alleged offences, breaches etc.
Sports related matters:
- Work closely with the team lead to handle all matters related to sports
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Turnaround time take time to close contracts
- Timeline adherence for assignments handled
QUALIFICATION:
- Law Graduate with experience of 5-8 years for a Manager and 3-4 years for an Assistant Manager
- Minimum experience of 1-2 years in a law firm is a must
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Contract drafting, good negotiation, and execution skills i.e. ability to draft, negotiate and close transactions independently with minimal supervision
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively within a team and a fast-paced dynamic business environment
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate legal issues and solutions in an articulate, precise and effective manner
- Well aware of general legal laws
