Manager - Analytics - AWS/ Linux/Docker

Role Overview :

- Structure analytical solution to address business objectives and problem solving

- Translate stated or implied client needs into researchable hypotheses.

- Develop sophisticated analysis plans to test those hypotheses given data and resource availability, time, etc by using advanced machine learning algorithms

- Facilitate client working sessions and lead recurring project status meetings

- Develop long-lasting, trusted advisor relationships with clients

- Able to work in dual shore engagement across multiple time zones

- Manage business uncertainty

- Assess customer needs, pain points, behaviors, activation levers, headroom for growth, value propositions

- Manage day-to-day project operations, serve as the functional and domain expert in the project team to ensure client expectations are met

Responsibilities :

- Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and evolving the cloud infrastructure of web applications

- Expected to understand the core AWS services and apply best practices regarding security and scalability

- Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it

- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance

- Migrate our infrastructure with zero downtime to a highly available, scalable one

- Set up a monitoring stack

- Define service capacity planning strategies

- Implement the applications CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stack

- Write infrastructure as code using Cloud Formation or similar

- Project tasks deliverables and management

- Deliver on project progress and ensure adherence to client expectation

- Communications, including deck writing

- Delivery of output

- Gathering of client feedback on problem structuring

- Understand and define business problems, get all background information and collect relevant data points

- Create solution hypothesis and get client buy in, discuss and align on end objective, staffing need, timelines and budget

Candidate Profile :

- Bachelors/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply

- 5+ years experience, preferably in insurance analytics

- Experience in running services on EC2 machines using Auto Scaling Groups, and also have experience in containerize application and migrating it to EKS or another AWS service such as ECS, Lambda, etc.

- Experience in setting up a monitoring stack, service capacity planning

- Experience with the core AWS services

- Good background in Linux/Unix administration

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Having used ECS or EKS, in the past is a plus

- Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.)

- Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack

- Previous exposure to large-scale systems design

- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems

- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform

- Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications

- Past experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus (example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM)

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

- Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges

- Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
