Business Planning :
Monitor and Manage Risk - This role will assist the senior managers and assistant vice presidents within the corporate actuarial team to carry out their responsibilities as per their respective sub functions. The sub functions within corporate actuarial pertain to Planning & MI, Reporting & Statutory Valuation, Risk Management & Reporting, Prophet & Modelling.
- The role holder will be responsible for developing various actuarial models in excel, Prophet & DCS and provide the necessary output from these models to their seniors as well as get involved in providing actuarial input regarding their relevant areas of work to other departments across the Company such as Finance, Operations, IT, Sales etc. The role requires good knowledge of actuarial concepts and the ability to proactively come up with solutions to problems. Good written and verbal communications skills are an advantage for the role.
Pricing :
- This role involves all tasks relating to product designing and pricing of new products as well as redesigning/ repricing of existing products. This includes: assisting in developing products suitable to needs of the customers; developing pricing models to optimize profitability, capital usage, commission and customer returns; ensure product meets risk appetite of company, assist in developing pricing report for peer review by Group Insurance and for regulatory filing; and assist in launch activities including review of marketing literature, systems testing and negotiations with reinsurers.
- This role requires a sound understanding of actuarial principles and a reasonable understanding of the insurance industry with good knowledge of local regulations.
- This role requires ability of interacting with other departments and external stakeholders and ability to contribute in intense environment.
