Role Description - Head - User Experience

Location : Noida

About the Role:

The right person for this role should have a track record of leading a team, understanding user objectives, needs and preferences, and translating these insights into intuitive, compelling, easy and effective experiences.

The UX Head will focus on user experience for Magicbricks and will be responsible for the product across the platform. This role will be distinguished by leadership and delivery responsibility of the team. The incumbent will also be responsible for planning for training, mentoring, appraising and enhancing the career of the people working in the team.

Education/Professional qualifications:

- B Des./M. Des/ Bachelors/Masters from Tier 1 engineering college or Design schools or relevant experience 12+ years of UX/UI design experience,

- 5+ years of design leadership experience managing a large team of designers

- Comprehensive understanding of how to apply modern design principles in practice, in the context of a hyper-growth environment

- Demonstrated experience designing complex workflows and interfaces for desktop or mobile products, proven by a portfolio that highlights recent work and your design decisions

- History of inspiring and building a cohesive vision

Soft Skill:

Facilitating, Critiquing, Storytelling, Sketching, Professionalism, Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate and contribute to strategic and tactical planning for the product.

- Interact and work with cross-functional teams, product managers to deliver a world-class product with great end consumer experience.

- Be innovative and recommend new ideas and products on a quarterly- basis.

- This role isn't only limited to Design/UX but can be extended to own other functions too.

- Provide leadership, mentoring, vision and direction to the UX team across the product suite

- Lead the process of implementing and scaling our design methodologies and systems

- Serve as a champion for user experience across groups, and with executive leadership

- Nurture talent while cultivating the user experience organization

- Source, attract, and hire the best talent

- Collaborate at the leadership level to create clarity out of ambiguity, and deliver clear messages and strategies to our teams.

- Develop a deep understanding of our users' unique needs, through various research techniques

- Champion and implement design strategies that evoke loyalty and delight from our user base

Product design thinking

- Responsible for end-to-end strategy, design and implementation of the company's design roadmap.

- A strong bridge between product, technology, marketing and other functions.

- Managing balance between Business goal, strategy and user experience.

- Leads the creative team and directs project completion in line with company goals.

- Maintaining consistency over the quality of the creative's output.

- Inspires the creative team to more advanced and better work using brainstorming sessions, team meetings, and other strategic tools.

- Staying abreast of emerging design trends and implementing brainstorming sessions and team meetings.

Competencies Required:

Behavioural Competencies :

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to appreciate, derive and drive from the confluence of data, customer experience (needs) and technology

- Strong analytical skills and experience with metrics-driven decision making

- Should be able to elicit requirements and document them, while being able to verify, analyze and validate the requirements gathered. S/he should be able to manage requirements across phases, managing changes to requirements and ensure stakeholder involvement through the entire life cycle of requirement.

- People skills are essential. Should be able to manage a team of individuals, assign tasks, provide guidance, take decisions and engage with senior management across the organization in key decision stages and presenting the solution.

Technical Competencies:

- Well versed with current and upcoming design and technology trends.

- Up to date with what's happening in social media and where the trend is moving ahead.

- User Experience methodologies and knowledge of design software for both Mobile and Web.

- Modern tools and design guidelines related to a product based company.

- User Experience Design, Wireframing, Leadership, Visual Design, Adobe Creative Suite, UI/UX Design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
