US Patent Attorney

- Advises other functions and managers using a broad range of legal skills to advance the organization's commercial agenda.

- Would you like to play a key part of MAERSK's exciting journey into the digitalization and CO2 neutralization of the transport and logistics industry, where IP will assist the business to strategically face a new competitive landscape.

- We are currently strengthening and expanding our Global IP Team located at MAERSK's Technology Center in Bangalore, India, by searching for a US Patent Attorney/Agent with proven IP experience, technical and social skills, and a strong commercial mindset.

We offer:

- The position is anchored in MAERSK's Legal Department but will have a global scope and reach as the internal IP focal point. You will report to the Head of Global IP, Simone Frattasi.

- This is a very exciting role focused on bridging IP and business value for MAERSK. In this process, you will be responsible for the full range of technical, legal, and business advice with respect to our growing patent portfolio and the risks coming from internal/external actors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drafting patent applications

- Handling US prosecution

- Claim charting and infringement/invalidity analysis

- Drafting and handling administrative proceedings before the USPTO (EPRs, IPRs, etc.)

- Providing FTO opinions

- IP harvesting

- IP training

We are looking for:

- As the ideal candidate, you will have a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in any fields of engineering (preferably, software engineering, life science excluded), computer science, physics, or similar, combined with being a US Patent Attorney/Agent.

- You have at least 5 years of experience as a patent attorney in-house, in IP consultancy firms, in a Patent Office - ideally a combination of two or more of the latter. Experience with patent litigation and US trademarks law is preferred.
