The role will manage a portfolio of more than ~100 million $ comprising of a pool of suppliers in transportation, warehousing &amp; customs documentation across the Indian subcontinent. Key Responsibilities: Vendor Management - Actively manage demand-supply of vendors across locations while building assigned category competency along with procurement &amp; cluster operations team - Manage vendor relationship across the cluster while actively proposing new ideas for continual improvement and simplification of operations processes - Drive cost optimization exercises to keep expenditure in control - Actively contribute towards the development of new inland logistical products - Look out for new age happenings of the assigned category and incorporating the same in operations to stay ahead of the competition - Drive vendor performance management process in coordination with the regions to promote a high level of an end customer satisfaction - Monitor adherence of vendor engagement plan and drive the culture of objective performance assessment with most critical vendors - Ensure key process parameters are a part of the vendor scorecard and SLAs are accordingly incorporated under the contract &amp; adherence to it while driving vendor audits across the cluster - Liaise with location operations and vendors and ensure real-time updates in online systems &amp; also to look at ways to automation/digitization Process Management and Improvement - Support process improvement opportunities for effective and efficient execution of cargo delivery process within Maersk Line India Operations - Manage operations repository of standard procedures and policies and effectively communicate with location operations team for implementation and subsequent adherence of the same - Coordinate with the Back-office support team to get vendors set up in systems and updating cost for all inland links as per business requirements - Work closely with the intermodal focal to set of Store Door locations in the system and ensure that correct vendor is mapped with each product - Develop, communicate and execute proposals for new and more efficient ways executing system updation on time - Engagement with Maersk back-end teams to further simplify processes Who we are looking for: - A Bachelor/Master's degree is required with 2-4 years industry or equivalent experience in sourcing, procurement and/or operations. Logistics experience preferable though not mandatory. - You should possess enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. We also value great people skills, ambition, and integrity. You should have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both written and oral). In addition, you should have organizational and time management skills including multitasking, prioritizing, and the ability to plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines. - You should be highly proficient in managing negotiations/supplier relationships, perform medium to advanced analytics in excel, driving efficiencies of scale, design and manage robust processes while balancing high customer service levels with low cost levels
