Drive all functions related to Projects Management & Execution, Facility Management which include civil, mechanical, electrical and automation projects from conception to commissioning to meet the growth and development goals of the Port Take active Part in the GPPL Management Team and key strategic decisions for the Port PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (IPE Factors: Impact & Innovation) - Manage Marine projects with the skill to conceptualise, design, construction & commissioning of projects which include civil, mechanical and automation. - Manage & administer FIDIC contract & handle large projects over 100 M USD. - Proficiently plan and manage dredging activities - Knowledge of Project management & ERP software which include MS Projects, Prima ware etc. - Supervise quality assurance procedures - Prepare and manage risk management and mitigation methods. - Adhere to engineering standards (BS,IS ASME etc,), prepare & maintain complete project documentation, which includes design, drawings, design standards, billing, certification etc. - Organise and generate reports, charts, drawings based on the survey / sounding/ studies/ information received/ collected/ observed, etc. - Prepare specification and deliverables for projects & PMC works. - Undertake periodical inspection of all marine structures/ components and other infrastructure which include roads, railways, compound walls, gardens, water supply system, sewage treatment plant, etc. Also manage preventive and break down maintenance - Prepare estimates, rate analysis, tenders, scrutiny reports, notes for obtaining various approvals, work orders, progress reports, correspondence with consultants/ contractors/ other departments/ external agencies, etc. - Conceptualise, design and develop drawings, specification, level 4 costing details for future projects. - Supervise & manage the project teams for execution of projects. Guide and mentor staff for improvement thereof. - Support stake holder management for successful completion of projects. Ensure necessary approval are obtained for financial approvals & execution of projects. Co - ordinate with internal/ external officials /agencies and ensure liaison with the departments and in larger perspective to support the organisation. - Organise joint measurements of the work carried out and verification of bills submitted by the Consultants and Contractors accordingly and certification of bills for payment. Following up the matter for expeditious processing. - Support Global Procurement in procurement activities for preparation of RFQ & Tender documents limited to technical support. On request may assist in assessing pricing / negotiations. - Preparation of annual capex budgets, capex cash flow, progress reports, track and monitor all projects of the port. - Reinforce APM Group Culture, values &reputation, ensure compliance with APM Group Policies - Facility Management & all other works instructed by the COO. REPORTING AND SCOPE (IPE Factor: Knowledge-Teams & Breadth) The geographical scope of the position is domestic. Direct Reports: Senior Manager - Projects, Managers -Projects, Assistant Manager - Documentation, Survey & Autocad All the subordinate staff, Contractors, Supervisors, workers of the contractor's representatives of the contracting / consulting firms The position reports to the COO and will be part of the Terminal Management Team WORK/BUSINESS CONTACTS AND AUTHORITY (IPE Factor: Communication) The position has both internal & external contacts where it is required to influence behaviour & acceptance. While with internal contacts this can be a shared outcome oftentimes the position may find that it is required to influence & bring about agreement in conflicting situations Work & Business Contacts: Managing Director Terminal Management Team Vendors & Contractors Relevant Government Authorities Consultants GPRO APMT Global Technical/CDV/Project Execution Team CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (IPE Factor: Knowledge) - Engineering degree and masters in structural or automation from a recognised university. Additional Master's degree in business/ project management is preferred. - Experience: After completion of the specified educational qualification, minimum twenty years of experience in management of large Marine projects from conceptualisation to commissioning - Experience in managing large FIDIC contracts over 100 M USD is considered essential. - Experience of managing dredging contracts. - Experience of port projects or port maintenance will carry additional weight. - Fluent in English and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. - Experience with Microsoft Project Job Costing and/or ERP systems as well as experience from the ports sector will be considered a distinctive advantage - Project related HSSE aspects
