Macroeconomic/Research Economist - Mutual Funds - IIM/ISB/MDI/FMS/PhD (3-5 yrs)
Job Description:
- Research reports on all Domestic and key Global Economic & Financial parameters and developments.
- Conduct macroeconomic, banking, financial market and sector-specific research, and write up research reports
- Tracking the major economic parameters and market data, updating sheets and writing notes on major macro releases.
- Writing periodic research reports that give clients a perspective on the coverage sector Participate in cross functional research projects
- Communicating effectively, both in written and oral form - forecasts and views on the economy and industry sectors
- Interacting with external and internal clients and facilitating their decision making
- Present research work to internal and external clients
- Liaise with business units for client visit, marketing and sales pitch
- Come out with timely actionable ideas to generate revenues for the firm
- Facilitating interaction of corporate / industry experts with clients
- Ensuring that financial models are precise and robust to capture the various nuances and complexities of the economy
- Providing actionable ideas, given a certain change in the economy/business environment
- Notes on emerging concepts
Qualifications Experience
- MBA / Master, PHD in Economics from Tier 1 Institutes
- 3-5 years of Work Experience, including a minimum of 2 years in Economic Research in the Capital Markets domain
- In-depth knowledge of Economics with mix of Finance
- Expertise in software's such as Bloomberg and CMIE
- Data Modelling and analytics
- Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Nested if etc)
- Aptitude for Economic Research, especially understanding of business models and converting the same into effective/dynamic financial and econometric models.
