Job Title : Brand Manager

Department : Marketing Grade

Reporting to : Marketing Manager

Job Purpose :


Brand Manager role is also to work with the Marketing Manager to define Brand goals and Objectives and the overall strategies that will help deliver the same.

Brand manager has total ownership to deliver the Brand's short term (AOP) and Long Term (3-5 years) business goals (volumes and profits) and objectives (strategic intent and vision) of the brand through quality and timely execution of Marketing Plans and through the results analysis of those executions so as to create mid-term course correct and redefine program objectives and plans.

Primary Responsibilities :

- In-line with the strategy, define the brand action plans for both 3-5 years and annual basis (building the AOP) for brands responsible for. Drive plan executions.

- Understanding consumer behavior based on obtaining consumer insights through formal consumer researches and informal observations through store visits. The role demands driving all marketing research end to end from defining the research needs, research analysis to deliver research actions.

- Control and monitor all marketing activities with respect to pre-set parameters and evaluate against goals, ROIs, KPIs

- Continuous interaction with field through visits and communication to understand market trend, trade dynamics, competitive scenario and plan actions accordingly as needed.

Key Competencies :

- Conceptual clarity of brand management theory and practices

- Strong Analytical skills.

- Data analysis skills and ability to identify trends from data and draw sound conclusions.

- A business and end result orientation. Ability to work towards goals and a strong ability to alter plans to deliver the budgeted objectives.

- Business Acumen. Works with a profit focus and a cost consciousness.

- Demonstrated strong execution skills. Ability to draw a detailed plan, obtain buy-ins and make sure all elements are tied in to deliver executions as per objectives and timelines.

- Ability to get hands dirty and directly work on projects and executions.

- Functional competencies include understanding of brand propositions - how they are developed and their expression in all the consumer touch points, market research, digital marketing. Should be able to independently develop brand collaterals, print ads. Knowledge of Trade Marketing and Sales.

- Strong communication skills: both oral and written. Ability to make impactful and effective presentations.

- Good interpersonal skills

External Interfaces :

- Media Agencies, Advertising Agencies, Research agencies (Syndicate, Customized)

- Industry Associations/ Organizers of Industry Forums, Seminars, Workshops etc

- Vendors

Internal Interfaces :

- Sales Team, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance

- Trade Marketing Team

Job Specifications :

- Desired Qualification MBA from reputed institute, specialization in Marketing

- Desired Experience 5-7 years of experience in FMCG marketing, with a 2-3 years experience in Foods marketing.
