About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Chartered Accountant (CA) to join our team as Financial Controller (FC). In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the company's financial health, driving strategic financial direction, and ensuring strong corporate governance. You will play a key role in supporting the company's growth and profitability through a combination of financial expertise, real estate industry knowledge, and strong leadership skills.
Reporting To: Group FC and Chairman
Your Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Partner with the Chairman, CEO and leadership team to develop and implement a long-term financial strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead the development of the annual operating plan and financial budget, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan and incorporating industry benchmarks for real estate performance.
- Oversee all aspects of corporate finance, including capital structure optimization, debt financing, investor relations, and M&A activities (if applicable).
- Develop and implement a robust risk management framework, policies and procedures (SOPs), proactively identifying and mitigating potential financial and operational risks specific to the real estate industry.
- Analyze market trends and financing options to identify and evaluate potential new ventures and investments.
Financial Operations & Reporting:
- Lead the finance team in establishing and maintaining strong financial controls and internal reporting systems, ensuring compliance with Ind-AS and IGAAP standards.
- Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including preparation of management accounts, annual reports, and financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the audit with internal and external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Implement and maintain effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Implement and oversee a robust Cash flow/ Working capital management system to optimize financial resources.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to streamline financial processes.
Real Estate Expertise:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the real estate industry, including market trends, financing structures, and regulatory considerations specific to RERA.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of real estate investments to assess project feasibility, profitability, and potential risks, incorporating industry benchmarks.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to the real estate industry to track performance progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay informed of evolving real estate regulations and ensure company compliance with RERA.
Leadership & Communication:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Maintain effective communication with the Chairman, Board of Directors, the Audit Committee, the investor community and Group Finance, presenting financial information clearly and concisely.
- Manage external relationships with lenders, banks, and other financial institutions.
Key Qualifications and Success Attributes
- Chartered Accountant (CA) designation with a minimum of 15-20 years of experience in senior financial leadership role within the real estate industry.
- Proven track record of leading and driving financial strategy in a real estate company
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance principles, including capital structure optimization, debt financing, and investor relations.
- In-depth knowledge of Ind-AS and IGAAP accounting standards.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining strong financial controls and internal reporting systems.
- Experience with SOPs, policies & procedures, risk management frameworks and methodologies.
- Deep understanding of the real estate industry, including market trends, financing options, and RERA regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
