Legal Regulatory Counsel - Telecommunications - LLB (5-12 yrs)

Key Responsibilities:

- Regulatory compliance and telecommunications licensing

- Advising commercial attorneys and business functions on routine regulatory issues and providing input on regulatory sections of routine commercial agreements; negotiating regulatory provisions with customers and suppliers

- Preparing regulatory reports

- Supporting more senior regulatory counsels in complex regulatory matters and complex commercial transactions

- Supporting a team of regulatory affairs specialists in their interactions and negotiations with government officials

- Working collaboratively with the broader Legal team and other user functions in the company to ensure company policy and procedures are followed, while being able to think out of the box to support new business initiatives

- Applying strategic and innovative thinking to support new business, including for the review and launch of new products and services

Must have Skills & Expertise:

- Bachelors or Masters in Law

- Minimum 5 years legal experience with a telecom company or major law (Telecommunications focused background) firm

- Basic understanding of trending technologies will be a plus

- Knowledge of general regulatory and corporate law

- Excellent written and oral communications skills

- Ability to collaborate with counter parts & other stakeholders across a range of relevant jurisdictions and time-zones

- Experience in Telecommunications Regulation and Policies, inclusive of telecommunications licensing, regulatory reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements

- Knowledge of the types of telecommunications services

- Familiarity with new technology/new product rollout, mobile roaming, IoT and cloud-based services
