Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly professional Legal officer for our client. It is a large Indian conglomerate which was initially a textile business which opened its first mill in Delhi. As a legal officer, you could be involved in labor or contract disputes, compensation issues, harassment suits or other workplace conflicts. Also provide general legal advice about corporate decisions regarding corporate growth, mergers or other practices. Responsibilities: - Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.) - Provide Legal Protection and Risk Management advice to management, legal support across all lines of business enabling profitable growth while mitigating legal risks and assure adherence to governance policies, ethics, and country specific laws and regulations - Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations - Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues - Review ongoing Legal Cases, progress of Litigations and advice management accordingly - Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust - Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights - Handle all type of litigations from end to end (Criminal, Civil, Labour/IR Complaint, Consumer, Arbitration etc.) including representations before the police authorities and co-ordination with the external counsel, Effective management of the Litigations - Continuously update the organization on changes in Law(s) relevant to our business along with impact, suggests for latest compliance(s) with statutory obligation(s) and advise management accordingly and ensuring awareness among concerned people through training; - Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces - Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization - Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility - Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in law or any other relevant field. - Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment - Legal Administration Skills - Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures - strong written and oral communication Functional Area: Law officer, legal officer, legal executive, advocate, legal advisor,law associate,Laisioning Officer,legal officer,in-house lawyers,in-house counsel, corporate counsel,litigation
