Legal Manager - Retail - LLB/LLM (10-15 yrs)

Job Purpose :-

1. Manage Collection Activity and Collection Agency for Personal Loan, Home Loan, Vehicle / Auto Loan and Small Business Loans.

2. Performance monitoring and review of Collection Agencies.

3. To initiate legal against defaulters

4. Verification and vetting of legal documents

5. Attending court / DRT proceedings on day -to -day basis

6. Facilitate symbolic / physical possession and auction of properties

7. Maintain legal status of allocated accounts

8. Advise collection team on use of legal tool for collection and recovery

9. Empanel and manage advocate and enforcement agencies

Key Accountabilities:-

1) Manage end to end Collection activity, review and monitoring of collection agencies performance.

2) Initiate legal against defaulters. Execution of legal remedies like Sec.138, SARFAESI Act etc on defaulting customers for recovery of outstanding.

3) Maintain MIS of legal action, co-ordinate with collection team, branches on issue of legal notice.

4) Achieve target of coverage of legal notice, Sarfaesi action and suit filing.

5) Empanel and manage advocate and enforcement agencies.

Job Duties & responsibilities

1. Manage end to end Collection activity, review and monitoring of collection agencies performance.

2. Conducting the On-Boarding of shortlisted Debt Collection Agencies(DCA), Panel Lawyer and Enforcement agencies as per the Outsourcing Risk Review (ORR) process

3. Review and vetting of documents form legal perspective. Attending court, DRT and Lok-adalat on day-to-day basis

4. Review performance of empaneled lawyer and enforcement agencies

5. Perform Controlled Self-Assessment on the DCA on a month-on-month basis

6. Assist retail collection team in enhancing performance by use of legal tools

7. Tracking and monitoring status of legal letters, suit file status, Sarfaesi actions.

Required Experience

At least 10 - 12 years of experience in Retail Collection (Mortgages, Unsecured Loans, Credit Cards) in handling legal activities

Education / Preferred Qualifications

LLB / Post-Graduate

1) Good domain knowledge of legal in retail collection

2) Good presentation & negotiation skills

3) Good interpersonal skills

4) Good knowledge of the industry

5) Ability to manage a Team

6) Acumen to manage Collection agencies

Technical Competencies

1) Sound knowledge of policies / lending frameworks followed for retail products

2) Good knowledge of Collection tools & Legal Tools

3) Sound understanding of regulatory guidelines on Collections issued by RBI (local regulations in India), MAS and local laws and regulations that impact retail businesses in general.

4) Knowledge of various Asset products and risks associated with them

5) Sound knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel, Power Point
