Crisil - Legal Manager - BFSI (4-9 yrs)

Role : Manager, Corporate Legal.

About the Role:

The role will be based in Mumbai and will be part of the CRISIL Legal team (the vacancy having arisen due to a team member moving on outside CRISIL). Depending on the person's experience, capability and fitment the role could be that of a Manager - Legal or other appropriate role.

The role will report directly into the Chief Legal Officer.

1. The candidate will be expected to take on a variety of in-house legal work including:

2. Contract drafting and review of a variety of contracts (from sales, procurement, employment and other) relevant for CRISIL's global businesses.

3. Research on legal matters relevant to CRISIL's businesses, including research on cross-border laws (as reasonably practicable).

4. Providing legal opinion and views on legal topics as relevant for CRISIL's businesses.

5. Coordinating the management of the intellectual property portfolio of CRISIL.

6. Handling contentious matters and helping with dispute resolution processes as necessary.

7. Assist the CRISIL businesses with statutory compliance related matters and where necessary, conduct legal audit and due diligence.

8. Depending on need, may be involved in M&A transactions.

9. Generally provide in-house legal support as necessary.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualification

Bachelor's degree in law from a reputable Indian university.

Desirable - a law degree from any of the common law countries.

Experience -

4+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in the financial sector.

Experience in handling cross-border legal work would be an added plus.

Suresh also regularly presents on legal topics - one of them being a presentation on technology related laws to senior judges in Maharashtra as a part of a knowledge-share session organized by the Technology Law Forum and the Maharashtra Judicial Academy.
