Legal Head - FMCG

Our Client is the world's largest FMCG brand manufacturer and exporter with a legacy spanning over 120 years.They are publicly listed with 2000 employees and India's first integrated company with a comprehensive product chain. Our client is a billion dollar top line company holding 45% market share in India and 50% share in export market.

As the Legal Head, you will be overseeing all the activities of the Legal Department including, maintaining and managing the litigation and Intellectual Property portfolio.

What you will do:

- Managing the Litigation portfolio with an objective to reduce litigation exposure

- Managing the Intellectual property portfolio including maintenance of trademarks across countries, and several copyrights and design with an objective of securing and protecting the IP rights of the company

- Supervising the Contracts portfolio with an objective of mitigation of risk and litigation exposure with domestic and international parties including vendors and customers

- Managing Advisory portfolio and providing support functions to various departments within the group with an objective of facilitating business and risk mitigation

- Implementing and ensuring a continuous development of process driven approach in all the activities of legal department

- Keeping a check on the legal costs and analytical reporting of legal expenses

- Briefing the leadership and making presentations to the Board

- Mentoring and handling the legal team

- Responsible for development, maintenance and enforcement of global compliance policies that are applicable for the company

- Keeping abreast of legislative trends and advising business of potential impact

Candidate Profile:

- Law graduate from a reputed law college preferred

- Demonstrable experience of 15+ years preferably in the intellectual property field (trademarks, copyrights, design and packaging, contracts and agreements etc.)

- Should have worked as a Legal Counsel in a manufacturing company

- Should have first hand Litigation experience

- Excellent business and legal judgement

- High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
