One of the Big 4 firms is seeking an attorney licensed in India to act as a legal advisor to assist them with India-related legal, regulatory and compliance matters. This attorney should have the following skills and experience. Required Skills and Experience: - An advocate licensed and qualified to practice the profession of law in India in compliance with the Indian Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules, each as amended, and admitted to a bar council in India. - Proven record of professional excellence and achievement with a minimum of 9 years of broad commercial contract and corporate experience as a practicing attorney in good standing. - Substantial commercial experience advising on and negotiating a variety of transactions and contracts. - Experience with information technology licensing and privacy laws, including GDPR, HIPAA, BAAs and related agreements (preferred). - Substantial experience advising clients on legal compliance and legal risk management applying Indian law, including regulatory and business compliance, employment law, and corporate and board governance. - Substantial experience in resolving legal disputes in concert with outside counsel, as appropriate/ required. - Experience working effectively with a US parent, advising US lawyers on Indian law, and applying both US and Indian law, as appropriate/required, to matters being handled. - Demonstrates a positive client-service attitude. - Exercises a forward-thinking, practical, and flexible approach to negotiation. - Collaborates effectively with stakeholders, remains organized and manages multiple projects simultaneously to completion
