Legal Counsel - Mergers & Acquisitions/Contracts - IT (6-8 yrs)
The successful candidate will review, structure, draft and negotiate a large number of customer transactions of various levels of complexity. He/she will also advise the company leadership on legal risks associated with transactions.
This position will require travel throughout the region.
Responsibilities :
- Represent the company's interests and interface directly with customer negotiating teams.
- Structure customer transactions to be most advantageous from a contracting and business perspective.
- Advise, and consult company executives based on accurate interpretation of contract documents and the facts of a business opportunity.
- Keep up to date with contracting developments affecting the company, its customers, and industries and incorporate the information into the company's contracting practices.
- Educate sales and company executives in regard to contracting and risk management issues.
- Manage disputes and litigation claims from customers.
- Develop contact templates, internal guidelines, toolkits, and packaged knowledge on various contracting and business issues.
- Providing Legal support to the business on various business initiatives and projects.
Qualification & Experience :
- Excellent academic background with a Bachelor of law degree from a leading institution.
- Minimum of 6 to 8 years of contracting experience in an appropriate fast-paced corporate environment is essential.
- Experience in structuring, drafting and negotiating contracts for technology products including consulting, systems integration, software licensing, subscription/SAAS or business process outsourcing agreements. Experience of finance technology products would be a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to efficiently manage a large volume of transactions independently.
- Experience from the IT/tech/fintech sector/from reputed legal firms preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language (reading, writing, speaking).
- Experience in developing markets and the Middle East highly regarded.
- Experience in M&A transactions required.
