ABOUT THE CLIENT INSTITUION :

The client institution is one of India's largest a network of hospitals and major treatment centers with the mandate of establishing uniform standards of treatment care with initiatives for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease/s, providing specialized training and education and facilitating collaborative basic, translational, and clinical research.

BACKGROUND & CONTEXT :

- Medical treatment and care is changing rapidly worldwide and use of digital tools and technologies are key in driving this change - improving quality, access, and cost of care.

- Digital technologies are being used across the entire patient journey - screening, diagnostics, treatment, home care and survivorship.

- Digital technologies are being used for treatment and care to :

- Provide tools for clinicians (incl. clinical decision support, evidence-based guidelines, image analytics & AI/ML, personalized medicine)

- Enable integrated care for patients (incl. illness screening, telemedicine, remote monitoring, medication adherence, patient engagement, patient education)

- Track quality of care delivery (clinical quality metrics, patient reported outcomes)

- Share data, patient care and best practices across health facilities (incl. data interoperability, disease registries)

- Engage with companies to build/test new solutions (incl. research, clinical trial automation, patient matching, real-world evidence, AI/ML)

- Collaborate with insurance companies and government (incl. health policy, reimbursements)

KEY FOCUS AREAS :

Client is establishing a new centre focused on digital health. The centre's focus areas include :

- Quality: Leverage digital technology to improve treatment workflows and patient experience e.g., clinical quality measures, guideline adherence, patient engagement, AI/ML.

- Affordability: Identify areas for cost reduction using digital health technology, data sharing etc., to make treatment care more affordable e.g., cost of care benchmarking.

- Access: Leverage digital technology to improve access to high-quality care esp. in non-urban / rural areas e.g., tele-medicine and delivery of decentralized care.

- Productivity: Leverage digital tools and automation to improve the clinical and administrative workflows, reducing the manual and redundant activities.

- Best Practices: Identify and share best practices in digital technology across client institution's hospitals and global best practices

- Training / Capacity Building: Use Digital health tools for continuous learning / skill development different user groups (e.g., doctors, nurses, technicians, radiology techs).

- R&D: Partner with Healthcare Start-ups and other organizations to drive R&D, and to help monetize research.

EXPECTED ROLE :

- Drive key digital health initiatives across client organization and network of hospitals and treatment centres

- Hire and develop strong center's team with strong expertise in technology and digital transformation across their respective ecosystem

- Engage with relevant stakeholders (both within and outside client institution) to determine and prioritize digital health needs in their respective field.

- Develop and drive short-term (1 yr), medium-term (2-3 yr) and long-term (5 yr) roadmap for digital transformation in consultation with client's Digital Health Board

- Promote research & development in overall Client institution's ecosystem and create a platform to collaborate/co-create along with technology companies and startups

- Identify & share best practices in Digital Health across Client institution's network

- Drive Digital Health partnerships, including engaging with the partner leadership team, tracking overall plans, helping debottleneck where needed.

- Leverage key external stakeholders (e.g., state/central government, hospitals, health insurance companies) for the success of the Digital Health partnerships and programs

- Develop project assessment process - feasibility, expertise, long-term benefit, funding, ROI

- Drive fund raising for the organization and for driving large strategic projects

- Establish overall governance, reviews and project monitoring. Establish overall center's reporting process, to report to the Centre's Digital Health Board

DESIRED PROFILE :

- Senior professional with 20+ years of experience in technology and digital transformation

- Strong work experience in business or technology consulting and in managing large engagements

- Good exposure to new technologies especially data management, mobile, cloud, AI/ML, data security, and service-oriented architecture

- Strong "business orientation" and an excellent sense of prioritization

- Ability to logically deconstruct and simplify complex scenarios, to develop practical and scalable solutions

- Strong program management experience including complex programs involving multiple stakeholders

- Ability to engage and build relationships with senior professionals across sectors, e.g., corporates, academia, hospitals, government

- Excellent communication skills - spoken, written
