Job Overview :

- The Asset Management Operations division of the firm is recruiting for Data Management & Governance team within the Alternatives Operations team to support the global expansion of operations functions across our Real Estate, Private Equity and Hedge Fund platforms.

- The candidate's initial responsibility will be to support the Data Governance and Management processes for internal JPM teams, Property Managers and Consultants. The candidate will work with the larger Global Alternatives Operations team, which is currently based in Delaware, New York, APAC and EMEA. Over the long term, the candidate will also assist with process improvement and automation projects across the broader Alternatives organization.

- The candidate must be able to support multiple processes and project deliverables simultaneously while also thinking strategically to align with the organization's broader goals and objectives. The candidate will have exposure to various alternatives product types for institutional, insurance, pension, and retirement accounts. The role will involve working closely with various internal and external teams and the business to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.

Job Description :

- Work closely with the business and third party Property Managers to proactively review and investigate data quality issues.

- Track data governance exception rules and conduct root cause analysis for DQ issues.

- Work with cross functional teams to provide missing data and cleanse data.

- Develop business requirement documents for automation projects and data governance rules.

- Partner with business stakeholders to identify and understand source data and outline data quality requirements and processes.

- Support data requests from all functions of the business including Finance, Asset Management, Acquisitions, Debt, Valuations, and Portfolio Management.

- Interpret ad-hoc data requests and conduct applicable queries to obtain desired results and provide business support.

- Interface with Technology team to assess complex data sets from a variety of structured and unstructured sources (ranging from small, simple Excel reports to large, complex datasets from enterprise applications and data warehouses), and build Data Governance rules to support responsibilities.

- Help drive continuous improvements to the team's data quality procedures and a consistent approach to how data quality is measured, monitored and reported.

- Create systematic, automated processes and tools that allow the team to scale and rapidly onboard new datasets.

- Participate in process mapping sessions to add to the team's comprehensive process inventory, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and process flows.

- Support quality assurance and user acceptance testing; provide post-production support for both maintenance and enhancement solutions.

- Provide assistance with project management and tracking.

Qualifications:

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including :

- 10-12 years of relevant experience that includes a progressive career trajectory.

- Experience in the Real Estate/Alternative Investments industry or strong aptitude to learn.

- Experience with Yardi Voyager Commercial, Multifamily & Investment module and other Real Estate applications a plus.

- Strong SQL skills to query SQL databases; experience with data analysis tools like Alteryx is a plus

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, power pivots & query, formulas, macros and external data connections.

- Working knowledge of data governance best practices is a plus.

- Highly capable problem solver, able to work on complex problems requiring strong analytical, conceptual and quantitative ability.

- Capable of working well with others but also autonomously with little direction.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
