Our data engineering leader is expected to lead the technology discussions with our clients and is to be their trusted guide in achieving - precise banking decisions through accurate data" - The head of Data Engineering will be a key member of the Data Technologies leadership team and is expected to strategize and lead the creation of solution templates &amp; frameworks, competency and capacity development in emerging technologies and to establish best practices. While this may not have direct revenue responsibility, will be the guide by the side of our client partners&nbsp; - This engineering leadership role can provide you many data engineering challenges of global banks, the innovations and engineering depth you demonstrate, can put you on fast track to being a well-respected industry leader.&nbsp; - You will also act as an internal consultant to the business and delivery resources, will provide directional guidance for various data projects on areas ranging from tools selection, architecture selection, methodology selection etc. This candidate needs to be an expert on various architectures, latest tools, current and future trends in data engineering space especially Big Data, streaming technologies and Cloud technologies. He should be a keen learner and possess excellent Change Management capabilities. - This person must have strong management skills and the ability to plan and execute in a complex, fast-paced environment. Candidates must have high energy, dedication, and expert-level skills. Responsibilities: - Technology ownership of all accounts/projects from Data Technology Business Unit. - Work as solution architect on multiple projects and will be responsible for creating best in class solution designs using open source and commercial tools for both on-premise and in the cloud deployments. - Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability - Must have experience creating a data lake on Hadoop distributors ( Cloudera, MapR or Hortonworks) - Must have experience in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark and other Big data technologies like Kudu, Impala, Ambari, YARN, HIVE etc. - Knowledge of ML/AI tools and their integration with Big Data environment would be a great advantage - Develop and articulate to stakeholders a consolidated understanding of the business requirements and drivers for Data &amp; Analytics at the enterprise level. - Evangelize, develop and maintain a vision for data and a blueprint to guide and inform cross product and business line initiatives - Establish and lead a targeted team of expert data architects and data modelers who focus on hands on data modeling, analysis, and architecture/design of data movement, data access, transactional and analytics solutions - Proactively identify enterprise opportunities that accelerate delivery and drive down operational costs through cross-product data services - Participate in tool evaluation, pilots and selection. Qualifications / Requirements: - Hands on experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hive, Impala, Kudu etc.) and have at least 2 Big data implementation on platforms like Cloudera, MapR, HortonWorks etc. - Expertise in emerging technologies (NoSQL, Distributed Processing, In-Memory data bases, Cloud Data Platforms including Snowflake) - Hands on experience with database design and database optimization techniques for performance in very large volume data warehouse environment using industry standard RDBMS (Oracle, Neteeza, Snowflake, Vertica or equivalent) - Proven ability to analyze requirements and clearly communicate those requirements to both business and technical stakeholders in many forms such as verbally, road maps, presentations and solution technical documentation such high level and detailed technical design documents - Direct experience with architecting and executing data consolidation and movement programs to take disparate data sources and consolidate them into an Integrated Data Warehouse. - Direct experience over the full systems development lifecycle for multiple data warehouse projects including implementation experience with prevalent industry methodologies - Experience with leading ETL tools, such as Talend, Ab Initio, Informatica, Data Stage or equivalent - Experience with leading BI Reporting Tools, such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent - Experience in the Payments / Card / Banking industry and familiarity with banking data constructs would be a big plus. - Strong Communication: Actively listen to others to understand their perspective and ensure continuous understanding regardless of communication channel or audience. - Bachelors / Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Equivalent. 14 to18 years related work experience or equivalent
