Lead - Valuation - BFSI (7-9 yrs)

Activity:

The individual will be a key member of International Finance. The majority of interaction will be with the Luxembourg team (within Europe Fund Management S. r.l. (BEFM)).

BEFM is a Luxembourg private limited liability company authorized by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as an alternative investment fund manager in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended. BEFM manages alternative investment funds (AIFs) in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit, fund of funds and hedge funds. BEFM is also authorised to provide, on an ancillary basis, discretionary portfolio management services and investment advice.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of the VFO COE team:

Provide local management of the VFO COE team, ensuring the following:

- Work is distributed amongst the team to ensure roles are balanced and deliverables are met

- Coach the VFO COE team when the questions or matters to deal with are complex

- Ensure that all deliverables are produced and reviewed locally to the correct level of quality and timeliness

- Any delays or issues are flagged to the Luxembourg team as soon as possible

- Onboard new tasks and ensure there is a framework for developing operating protocols driving efficiency and strong controls

The individual will also participate to the following tasks, amongst others:

Valuation:

- For private & public investments, prepare the Valuation matrix inputs and perform a first level analysis of the produced material

- NAV and Central Administration oversight

- Review of the NAV package, capital account statements, Central Administration reports

- Prepare a NAV analytical review per AIF

- Review the KPIs produced by the Central Administration

- Review Key Information Details files

Statutory, tax and regulatory reporting

- Review of financial statements of the AIFs, Banque Centrale de Luxembourg reports and other CSSF reports if applicable

- Coordination, with local tax advisor, of the preparation of the Luxembourg direct and indirect tax (VAT) returns

- Monitor FATCA/CRS status and reporting for AIFs

Management reporting

- Prepare a high-level summary of the valuation and NAV oversight process on a quarterly basis or

- Prepare a quarterly analysis of the AIFM activity

Other tasks

- Maintain any relevant tracker to ensure the Luxembourg team has a live updated view on all tasks performed (e.g., NAV calendar, Valuation checklist, NAV error thresholds, Operating Memorandum, Audit scopes, 3rd party valuation advisor's due diligence, tax tracker.)

- Ongoing maintenance of the Finance Database

- Ad-hoc Finance requests

Required Skills:

- Candidate must be a B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Statistics/Graduate, Postgraduate with knowledge of accounting and finance

- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

- In depth knowledge of US GAAP required or IFRS

- Good understanding of valuation methodologies, with a minimum exposure to either credit instruments, real estate, or private equity

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with fast and exact data processing skills - must be able to prepare and maintain well organized trackers for processes. Very good at PowerPoint and Word

- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, and step into the complex processes as & when needed - must be able to prioritize work given several sets of deadlines

- Quick learner with the ability to multitask and quickly turnaround ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment

- Highly motivated and the ability to effectively work as an individual contributor and possess strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, details-oriented and decision-making skills, multitask and deliver under tight deadlines

- The profile involves effective communication across Clients' facilities globally and hence possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written English is a must

- A desire to work in an international team environment, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders

- Must operate with the highest level of integrity
