Lead Psychometrician

The role is an opportunity to advance the way educational assessments are understood, analysed and interpreted in India. It will be an opportunity to help create and collaborate with the IRT/psychometrics community focusing on analysing and deriving insights from class 3-12 student assessment data. It will involve looking at large scale student assessment data and use educational measurement techniques, including principles of classical test as well as item response theory to make meaningful judgements about items, student abilities and tests. In addition to various growth opportunities on professional front, the role comes with the opportunity to create a positive impact on the way students learn.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Use different theories of educational measurement, including Classical Test Theory, Item Response Theory on student response data to derive meaningful information about items and student abilities

2. Perform tasks involving item parameter generation, differential item functioning, equating, scaling, norming, and standard setting

3. Works closely with a team of Educational Specialists on statistical analyses on projects using large scale assessment data

4. Ensure quality control of student response data and analysis, results interpretation, and reporting

5. Lead various aspects of operational work related to data collection, data cleaning, calibration, scoring, quality control, and reporting

6. Develop algorithms to automate evaluation and assessment data analysis procedures

7. Prepare technical reports and related documents

8. Conduct training, present analyses to internal teams and external clients as needed

9. Help build a team of psychometricians in future as the need and projects expand
