- Minimum 25 years of Experience - Strong personality - Experience of GE Power Plants Availability: Immediate Role Summary: The Lead Project Engineer - Civil Substation is responsible for leading and coordinating all civil engineering aspects of power equipment projects for Utility and Industrial FACTS projects. In this role, you will direct the efforts of engineers and designers working on the project team on technical matters to meet project civil specifications. Essential Responsibilities: As the Project Engineer - Civil Substation, you will: - Be responsible for the reactive compensation structures, foundations, yard structures, site grading plans, rigid bus analysis, transmission and distribution design and layout, masonry block design, building design, site and field support of contractors, elevation drawings, and piping and fuel system design for large emergency generation projects - Be responsible for writing equipment specifications and issuance of material purchase request forms to sourcing, vendor quotation evaluations, and interfacing with customers and project team members - Be responsible for cost control and schedule objectives for the civil / mechanical aspects of power projects - Act as single point of contact for technical issues for the customer and project manager - Lead development of proposals, including writing and/or reviewing technical specifications, estimating design man-hours and materials, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, directing designers and draftsmen on drawing requirements, and the development of clarifications and exceptions as well as technical responses - Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders and support organizations - Define processes, procedures, perform RCAs (Root Cause Analysis), perform corrective actions, and validate process control - Support quality, initiatives including aspects of ISO9001:2015 Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college - Minimum 4 years of work experience in civil engineering, controls engineering, or project management - Minimum 2 years of experience in structural steel and foundations ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally Desired Characteristics: - Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution Substations power delivery systems engineering and projects experience as a Civil Engineer in substation type applications - Knowledge of / experience with NFPA, Building Codes, Institute of Electrical &amp; Electronic Engineers (IEEE) &amp; International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standards
