Job Summary:

Job Description / Information:

- Drafting, editing and negotiating basic contracts with direction and work on contract management process including maintaining standard contract templates

- Providing timely advice and counsel to clients around applicability and requirements of various corporate and other local laws.

- Managing secretarial compliances under corporate laws for India and ensuring timely statutory filings and reportings

- Providing accurate information and research to a supervisor regarding laws and regulations

- Providing directed support related to the development of in-house training and education on various legal matters.

- Following internal processes and policies including legal policies and procedures like Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assist in managing and implementing such policies and procedures, as required.

- Collaborating and communicating with colleagues, management, and outside counsel.

- Working with outside counsel with direction on litigation matters

- Assisting in managing systems in place for legal and compliance functions like Corporate Compliance Database, contract management tools, managing invoices of vendors etc.

- Responsible for developing strong relationships throughout area of responsibility to foster an advisory or collaborative approach to proactive compliance.

- Maintains high level of knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations, and periodically reviews and updates standards relating to compliance. These include, but are not limited to Stryker Corporate Policies and Procedures, industry trends and guidance on country, state/provincial or local laws.

- Ensures that employees and other identified parties utilize established systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

- Responsible for on-going monitoring and auditing of compliance systems and processes and reporting to compliance leadership with regard to effectiveness.

- Responsible for identifying system or process improvements that increase efficiency, compliance or reduce cost to the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Law degree / Qualified Company Secretary

- Minimum 5 years

- Possesses and practically applies broad and advanced knowledge skills/abilities and understanding of disciplines within business application.

- Demonstrates well-developed ability to anticipate impact and proactively take initiative beyond direct responsibilities.

- Demonstrates professional and positive demeanor and is perceived as highly competent with developing management/leadership skills.

- High volume or complex work is completed in a timely and thorough manner with minimal rework.

- Well-developed ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality.

- Works under minimal supervision and instruction of management.

- Demonstrates developing managerial/influence skills.

- Basic understanding of budgets and expense management.

- May make decisions of moderate financial impact
