Lead/Head - Energy Technical Support - South Asia Regional Energy Partnership Activities

Hiring LEAD ENERGY for Technical Support for South Asia Regional Energy Partnership activities.

The role will enable deployment, testing and commercial adoption of advanced technologies and business solutions by developing and harmonize policies and standards for advanced energy systems and technologies (smart meters, electric charging infrastructure, carbon capture, floating solar, energy efficient technologies, grid integration of variable renewable energy (VRE), cleaner fuels such as natural gas, and environment sustainability, among others). This position will be based in New Delhi

Key Responsibilities:

- Originate and lead implementation of innovative pilot projects and commercial deployment of advanced technologies.

- Develop and support implementation of contextually relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines to promote deployment of advanced technologies in the energy sector.

- Design technical specifications, engage with OEMs and solution providers and customers to enable implementation of advanced technologies in energy sector.

- Provide end-to-end transaction advisory support for procurement and integration of advanced technologies.

- Lead capacity development efforts to ensure that utilities, regulators, and policy makers understand the cost-benefit of new technologies.

- Ensure replication of successes and documentation of lessons learnt, experience sharing and wide dissemination.

- Coordinate efforts with host country government officials and the other energy programs in the region to assess current gaps and impediments in the policies, regulations, and standards for increased uptake of advanced energy solutions.

- Leads activities and achievement of results under Objective 2, including management of staff, advisors, and subcontractors supporting implementation of activities.

- Provides technical guidance on selection, design, and implementation of technology demonstration activities.

- Proactively collaborates with other Objective Leads to provide analytical inputs, management support, and experience sharing for overall success of SAREP.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Mechanical/Instrumentation/Information Technology) or a related field and 15 years of required, Master's degree (Electrical/Power System/ Transmission/ Instrumentation/Electronics/Computer Science/Energy Systems/Information Technology) or a related field and 12 years of energy sector experience preferred.

- Experience in deploying advanced energy solutions and systems such as smart meters, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVDS, SCADA, WAMS, AGC, PLEXOS etc.

- Experience in generation, transmission, and/or distribution utility modernization.

- Experience and understanding of innovative and emerging technologies and their relevance to the energy sector in South Asia.

- Experience in South Asia region and or working in International aid prpjects projects is a plus.

- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities to oversee concurrent technical activities and teams.

- Strong managerial, leadership, and communication skills
