Lead - Equity Research Analysis - Utility Domain - KPO (6-10 yrs)

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Analyzes a portfolio of assigned entities as well as moderately complex situations, data, and information assesses quarterly financial projections and resolves difficult deal-specific analytical situations

- Develops and recommends criteria for new issues consistent with existing S&P criteria; learns and applies S&P internal systems and effectively communicates S&P methodology and procedures to clients, Participates in (and leads as assigned) projects related to criteria and quality, process improvement, and tools

- Aids in identifying market trends, client developments, and client financial projections in several industries

- Writes criteria pieces, deal summaries, and analytical reports contribute to thought leadership pieces and synthesize analysis into well-reasoned and well-supported rating recommendations that demonstrate a strong understanding of financial markets and business environment and the relationship to S&P products

- Works effectively with markets and jurisdictions outside of primary focus in a team-oriented, multi-cultural and global environment

- Acts as the primary analyst for a complex entity or complicated transaction and is an active, vocal voting member of the committee who makes recommendations to the rating committee and prepares material for ratings publication

- Listens for and identifies new opportunities and involves the appropriate level of management

FUNCTIONAL & BEHAVIOURAL KNOWLEDGE :

- Maybe the no 2 or no 3 on relationships with the most important clients, and maybe the key contact with mid-sized clients; Has begun to play an important role in business development

PROBLEM-SOLVING:

- Under general guidelines and a large degree of independence, has the ability to analyze unique, non-routine analytical or business problems in a timely and insightful manner but requires management oversight on most complicated issues/situations

INTERACTIONS :

- Meets with issuers and investors on analytical matters and assists in resolving client needs contributes to media requirements in conjunction with senior members of the organization, and takes the lead at in external meetings related to the credit, as assigned by a more senior manager

TYPICAL SCOPE & IMPACT :

- Trains others and helps them resolve difficult day-to-day analytical issues and problems

MINIMUM & PREFERRED EDUCATION :

- Advanced degree plus Level 1 & 2 certification

MINIMUM & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS :

- 3-5 years in financial services (7-10 years without advanced degree)
