Job Description: Reporting to the Consumer Insight Head, you will be responsible for:
As a Lead Consultant your role will be to research and prepare, with other members of the India team, multi-client annual & quarterly market reports on Soft Drinks, Beer, Packaging, Wines & Spirits, Dairy & Hot Beverages. Research and work on single client / ad-hoc reports or projects. To conduct industry meetings with beverage companies, supplier companies and other industry organisations as key element of GlobalData research methodology, identify & develop GlobalData contacts in the beverage & supply-side industry, monitor industry trends & developments through desk & field research.
In summary job role will cover -
- Build new and maintain collaborative relationships with both old and new contacts in the beverage & other allied industries to obtain accurate market data and insights
- Carry out regular in-depth face to face & telephone interviews (with key manufacturers, industry suppliers & other industry organisations) to obtain company data and market insights
- Maintain a list of industry contacts & data sources
- Monitor company, industry & general information sources (including web sites, company reports - ) to keep up to date with latest developments in the beverage industry and its related value chain.
- Regularly monitor beverage products sale, packaging & pricing in all channels (off-premise / - at home- / retail and on-premise / - away from home- )
- Liaise regularly with Regional Research Manager/DOBI as required on all aspects of research activities
- Collect, analyse and submit fully reconciled and up-to-date data (including forecasts) on beverage production, sales & consumption trends in pre-defined data templates
- Provide written insights into category, company & channel trends & developments
- Maintain & update profiles of leading beverage companies at regular intervals.
- Submit complete reports to specification on or before delivery dates specified.
- Liaise with Edit & Projects teams to promptly answer queries & update current & historical data or commentary where needed to complete a report or project on time.
- Prepare and make industry presentations and attend meetings with GlobalData clients as/when required by GlobalData.
- Respond to queries or enquiries from GlobalData clients or GlobalData Sales & Marketing throughout the year as promptly and thoroughly as possible.
- Submit sales leads & enquiries for potential report or project sales to Globaldata regional account manager and / or the Sales & Marketing team in HQ
- Provide assistance & guidance to Globaldata Sales & Marketing staff and other senior executives when they are visiting the country /countries for which the Research Consultant is responsible.
- Maintain and protect at all times the confidentiality of Globaldata data and reports.
Skills requirements:
- 8 to 10 years of Research & Consulting experience. The candidate must have good experience in FMCG domain and domestic market experience will be an added advantage.
- Market research skills, specifically: gathering, management & analysis of data, structured interviewing techniques, competitive analysis and business-to-business research expertise
- To have knowledge of the beverage industry and / or its supply side industries; esp. if they have some knowledge of the dairy industry
- Ability to build a strong network and good working relationships with senior executives in the beverage industry & its associated value chain and find and develop new industry contacts
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborating as required with members of the India team, Global Data head office and regional Research & Sales teams
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Excellent MS office skills
- Ability to analyse data, explain data/ numbers, your research methodology, understand the beverage industry and provide insights on the market

- An enquiring mind and nature of someone who want to learn and discover things, a person suited for research
- English is the preferred office / company spoken language and with the ability to read and write English
