Lead - Compliance - Mutual Funds (6-12 yrs)

- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable rules, regulations including SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, and handle regulatory inspections & scrutiny, assisting business teams in audits, policies and helping with scheme documents, ad-hoc regulatory requirements, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.

13. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Monitoring requirements

2. SEBI Inspection

3. Reviewing various policies and periodically updating policies in line with changes to MF Regulations ,Periodic reports and scheme related documents

6. Reviewing and approving advertisement, communication, factsheet, sales literature, presentations for new schemes and for existing schemes and filing with SEBI. Reviewing the website to ensure all disclosures are made on timely basis Review of Policies

5. Coordination for SEBI MF Inspection, providing data in coordination with different business functions, responding to draft observations, finalising the Inspection Report before final submission to auditors Coordinating for timely and accurate submission of data for off-site surveillance data requirement from SEBI Advertisement/ Website approvals

4 Set-up and monitoring of investment limits for various schemes

- Implementing employee dealing guidelines and prohibition of insider trading regulations

- Coordinating and seeking timely reporting of transaction in securities by Directors of AMC and Trustee Company and by employees

- Undertaking reconciliation of transactions reported by employees, Directors of AMC and Trustee Company

- Carrying out review of various operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations

- Tracking of day to day activities, conducting additional checks if required

- Preparing Quarterly Reports, Compliance Test Report, Half Yearly Trustee Report and seeking confirmations from concerned departments

- Working on various SEBI & AMFI reports and statutory disclosures

- Coordinating internally and submission of SEBI/AMFI/RBI reports on a monthly/quarterly basis

- Coordinating and submitting ad-hoc data requirements sent by SEBI and AMFI

- Filing of draft Scheme Information Document (SID) and Key Information Memorandum (KIM) for new schemes for SEBI approval. Filing of Statement of Additional Information (SAI) with SEBI on annual basis. Filing of half yearly renewal SID and KIM with SEBI.

Audits - Liasoning with internal auditors, statutory auditors for ongoing audits and related processes

4. DECISIONS

Following decisions are taken by the role:

Limit monitoring - ensuring limit monitoring and compliance with Investment limits and no breach of investment limits

Communication - Applicable guidelines are implemented in letter and in spirit Inspection - To handle various queries from the auditors and Inspection team diligently and ensure appropriate analysis to all the queries before responding

5. CHALLENGES :

Following are the challenges faced:

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of regulatory reports, data requirements without compromising on business requirements.

- Ensure compliance with Advertisement Guidelines at all points in time despite pressure from the business teams to approve sales literatures.

Internal Clients:

- Roles you need to interact with inside the organization to enable success in your day to day work

- Needs to work closely with leadership, investment team, operations team, product and marketing team

External Clients:

Roles you need to interact with outside the organization to enable success in your day to day work

- Vendors: To ensure policies and other literature is in place

- Regulators and Auditors: To coordinate internal and statutory audits

- RTA and Fund Accountant: To coordinate with RTA and Fund Accounting to ensure compliance of regulatory disclosures.

7. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :

a) Qualifications: CA/ CS/ CMA/ MBA

b) Work Experience - Approximately 6 to 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in Mutual Funds industry

c) Other requirements :

- Good Knowledge of SEBI Regulations

- Strong understanding of Investment Compliance and related processes

- Meticulous attention to details & Time Management

- Excellent computing, interpersonal, teamworking and written/verbal communication skills
