Job Summary:

- The position available is as a Lead Analyst in the Insurance sector within the India Equity Research team, based in Mumbai.

- The selected candidate will be a lead coverage analyst with a focus on the companies and sector trends in the Insurance industry.

Responsibilities

- Building and maintaining financial models and industry databases for evaluating companies and market segments

- Reviewing business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings and other sources in order to gather, synthesize and interpret data on companies followed by team

- Preparing research reports varying in size and scope from quick briefs on earnings results or strategic events to more in-depth, original thought pieces on a range of topics

- Writing research reports

- Communicating recommendations to sales, trading, management teams, institutional investor clients and other important stakeholders

- Developing marketing materials for clients and attend industry conferences where appropriate

Education

- CA or MBA

- A CFA -would be an advantage.

Experience

- 7+ years of experience in Insurance equity research or investment banking

- 7+ years of experience in business modeling, financial statement analysis, and working with large data sets is required

Skills

- Strong modeling and database skills are essential

- Demonstrated ability to write high quality, evidence-based projects or reports

- An inquisitive nature and the ability to think logically whilst expressing your views in a clear and engaging manner

- Willingness to promote your ideas and work to a variety of stakeholders

- Creative Thinking: Ability to generate new ideas and possibilities, and to see business opportunities from a novel perspective

- Consulting Skills: Ability to provide business-related added value, including innovative approaches and new or improved solutions

- Flexibility: The capacity to adapt your approach in light of shifting priorities or changing conditions

- Team Orientation / Teamwork / Collaboration: The willingness to work as a member of the team

Language

- Fluency (written and spoken) in English
