Lead Advisory/Manager - M&A - Consulting Firm (4-7 yrs)

Role- Lead Advisory M&A Manager

Location: Bangalore

M&A, fund raising and deal experience required.

Overview:

Supporting the lead advisory team in securing, managing, and executing M&A and capital raising transactions across a broad spectrum of sectors and industries, the role will primarily involve activities including idea generation, sector and company research, assisting in information collection and preparation of deal collaterals, working closely with the team on the transaction etc.

Responsibilities:

- Assisting in Transaction Execution & Closure: Assist the lead advisory team in managing and closing transactions. Work on multiple engagements to provide transaction support such as undertaking sector, industry, and company research, understanding and preparing business models, understanding and preparing information memorandum, opportunity briefs, memos, and other deal collaterals. Also assist in transaction structuring, due diligence activities, and transaction closure.

- Idea Generation and Opportunity Sourcing: Generate suitable ideas (buy-side, sell-side, capital raising) by undertaking sector, industry and company research. Generate actionable ideas that can be suitably converted into mandates. Also assist other lead advisory team members in idea generation by undertaking research which can be both desktop based and by meeting potential prospects, etc. Help secure mandates by assisting in gathering intelligence about potential leads, preparing company introductions, and preparing proposals, etc.

- Communication & Teamwork: Communicate, coordinate, and work with different teams within such as teams in other locations, due diligence teams, valuation team etc. as required to assist in execution of projects and mandates.

- Thought Leadership: Focus on certain sector/ industry segments to generate thought leadership material such as articles, sector intelligence reports, etc.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

- Industry and Sector skills: Must display strong understanding of select sectors such as Consumer/Healthcare/Industrials etc. Must also possess experience and understanding of the South (Southern India) market

Technical Skills:

- Display strong understanding of business concepts

- Exceptional understanding of accounting and finance concepts.

- Must possess strong skills in preparing collaterals such as business plans and information memorandum.

- Very strong competency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Word tools

Communication and soft skills:

- Must display very strong verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrate ability to work as a team

- Flexible and must demonstrate commitment to role

Experience:

- 2+ years of experience working in an investment banking or suitable corporate finance role

- Experience working on M&A and capital raising transactions with a front end role

- Experience and understanding of South market

Education:

- Qualified CA or

- MBA (Finance specialization) Tier 1 college with relevant undergraduate qualifications
