Assistant Manager - Corporate Strategy (Accenture, KPMG, EY, Roland Berger)

Only experienced consultants (Accenture, KPMG, EY, Roland Berger or Retail experienced - B&M or eCommerce should apply)

Position Objective :

- To contribute as a core team member on key Strategic Programs ( sponsored by Chairwoman / Board Members), typically led by one of the Senior Project Leads on Corporate Strategy team or at times under the direct supervision of Chief Corporate Strategy Officer

Responsibilities :

- Landmark Group is one of the largest retail conglomerates with presence across the Middle East, Africa, Indian Subcontinent, and South East Asia. Landmark Group has a diverse portfolio of retail and hospitality brands. Core brands (Babyshop, Splash, Max, Home Centre, Lifestyle, Shoemart) have top of the mind brand recall in their respective markets.

- Corporate Strategy team drives strategy development and large scale business transformation programs across businesses and geographies for the Group, along with the growth agenda for the group (new markets, new businesses).

- Clients for Corporate Strategy team led strategic programs are - Board Members (Chairwoman / Directors), Brands/Businesses (e.g. Babyshop, Splash, Max, Home Centre, Lifestyle, Shoemart etc.), Territories (e.g. KSA, UAE) or Corporate Functions (e.g. IT, HR, Finance, Supply Chain etc.).

Assistant Manager role on key Strategic Programs will either drive independent work modules or support project lead and team members on larger work modules, typically involved in the following :

- End to End management of individual work streams incl. respective stakeholders

- Develop key hypothesis, test and validate with fact-based data driven analysis basis clear understanding of key client requirements or pain-points

- Extensive secondary research often using public sources to understand global trends, benchmarks, and implications

- Analyze internal data (financial / operational / retail transaction), identify root causes of problems, and draw actionable business insights

- Recommend solution ideas, helping drive clarity of thought amidst ambiguous situations

- Support project lead and team members in developing detailed go-forward strategies or performance improvement plans

- Independently design and develop senior management presentations or own specific sections within a larger presentation

- Develop business cases backed by well structured excel models where required

- Ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables

- Present insights and conclusions confidently and meaningfully to project lead / team, and client stakeholders

- Drive implementation of strategic initiatives, regular progress reviews, tracking and reporting of business benefits / impact delivered

Qualification & Skills :

An ideal candidate for this role should be/have :

- MBA from Top tier institutes and experience as mentioned below

- Strong drive to take on challenging assignments, excel in a high performance environment and commitment to deliver tangible results

- Sound commercial acumen and strong analytical and problem solving skills i.e. understand key underlying drivers of business and come up with actionable insights

- Goal oriented self-starter, willing to work with minimal supervision and guidance

- Advanced excel skills and strong communication skills visible in presentations / PPTs, written, and verbal communications and well

- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of engagement types, working hours, work environment, and travel as required

- Ability to effectively and independently engage with the Senior Management stakeholders

- Excellent Team Player

Experience :

An ideal candidate for this role should have -

- Proven track record of performance excellence in academics and at work

- 1-3 years of Strategy / Operations consulting experience post MBA in a Top-tier Management Consulting firm, preferably in Retail / Consumer Goods practice

OR

- 1-3 years of Corporate Strategy in a major corporation post MBA preferably in Fashion/Apparel/Beauty-Cosmetics/Footwear business OR Business experience preferably in merchandize planning / category management or similar analytical/business planning and execution oriented roles
