Agribusiness Expert (One Position)

Brief background: Modern agricultural practices have been major causes of soil degradation and fertility loss, pollution of water bodies and natural resource depletion in Ganga Basin. Hence transition to sustainable agriculture is urgently needed to maintain Ganga Basins ecosystem services. Extensive use of water, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, soil tillage, and mono-cropping have increased soil erosion and 57 degradation, depleted soil nutrients and biodiversity, dwindled the basin's waters, and polluted ecosystems.

The work will include deriving of strategy and innovative interventions in regard to reduce the non-point-source pollution due to agricultural activities and the ensure sustainable agricultural practices. The work will also involve coordination with other National/ State Government stakeholders, Institutions, and NGOs for identification of best agricultural practices.

REQUIRED ELIGIBLE PROJECT EXPERIENCE- Shall be an agribusiness expert with more than 5 years of experience in agribusiness related activities/ organic farming/ rural agri livelihood management/ agri value added services, etc.

He should have undertaken at least 2 agribusiness related assignments.

The role requires regular coordination and consultation of private as well as Government stakeholders (National/ State Government Stakeholders). The role also requires excellent report writing, presentation skills, preparation of agenda and minutes.

Min Education: Post graduate in Agribusiness management or equivalent

Candidates from premier educational universities/institutes will be preferred like IRMA, MANAGE, FMS, IIMs, NIAM etc
