Chartered Accountant - Advisory Firm (2-6 yrs)
Our client - a leading advisory firm is recruiting an Accountant with experience in Finance & Accounts for their office located in Nariman Point.
Role : Member of Finance & Accounts (F&A) function
Scope of Work includes:
Planning and Performance Measurement/ Enhancement:
- Ensure timely month end closing and generate financial statements from the accounting software
- Implementation of high quality MIS including graphical management dashboards to provide on-time, regular and accurate data, to provide more visibility into business performance metrics for review of business performance by the management team.
- Review monthly MIS in the form of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements before submission to Management
- Assistance in improving the existing performance management system including budgeting process for variance analysis, with a view to improving accountability and downward delegation of authority to each individual. In due course, team member will develop processes to track actual vs budget. This will help in improve performance measurement and will develop higher certainty around achievement of business plan targets
Cash flow management :
- Devise ways and means of tracking cash flow and create rolling 24-week to 2-3 years cash flow forecasts.
- Provide Assistance in Treasury & Cash management and take full ownership for the day to day activities/team in the F&A function.
Risks and Controls :
- Review existing internal controls and suggest ways and means of improving this to ensure no revenue leakage and reduce costs.
- Recommend best practices to design and implement a formal process to monitor expenses and update delegation instruments, electronic authorization matrices, specimen signature documents, validation and authentication processes while measuring team productivity and strengthening internal controls
- Follow up with Debtors outstanding for more than 90 days. Prepare ageing analysis for Debtors
- Ensure all issues highlighted by Internal / Statutory auditors have been closed.
Compliance and Taxation :
- Develop a Compliance tracker and a dashboard, for all taxes, to include a reporting calendar and to track the progress on compliances
- Overseeing the taxation function, both direct and indirect taxation with respect to compliance of timely tax payments, tax deductions return filings and bring up to management any delays or lapses for rectification or action.
- Liaise with external consultants appointed by the company for specific inputs and tax consulting matters.
- Preparation and submission of data requested by statutory bodies e.g. SEBI, RBI, ROC etc.,
Accounting and Audit :
- Review and take ownership of the underlying Financial Statements of the company, lead the statutory audit finalization and handling routine monthly, quarterly and annual compliances
