Position Overview:
- Our client is a prominent leading Bank, with a strong presence in the banking sector. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Key Account Manager-Government Business to lead and oversee their government accounts portfolio.
- As a Key Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding relationships with key government clients. Your strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, will be essential to successfully navigate this dynamic and regulated sector.
- You will be responsible for acquisition of NTB Institutional Clients for Liabilities (CASA / WTD) and Payments & Cash Management products.
- The role will closely collaborate with the product teams and Branches to drive effective customer acquisition, servicing.

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (Masters/MBA preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in key account management, preferably within government departments or public sector clients.
Preferred Industry: BFSI
Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key government clients, acting as the main point of contact for all their needs and concerns. Manage the existing key relationships for Government & Institutional Business in the assigned geography/ Cluster for deepening of ETB (Existing to Bank) Book
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans that align with the company's business objectives and contribute to the growth of government accounts.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding the range of products and services offered to government clients.
- Negotiations: Lead negotiations with government agencies to ensure favourable terms and conditions, while balancing company profitability and client satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments, including sales, marketing, legal, and product teams, to ensure seamless service delivery and address client needs effectively.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify challenges or potential issues within government accounts and work to find creative solutions that align with both client requirements and company capabilities.
- Contract Management: Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations in compliance with government regulations and company policies.
- Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends, government policies, and competitive landscape affecting government accounts, and use this knowledge to inform account strategies.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on account status, sales performance, and forecasts to senior management.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior account managers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring consistent service quality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field (Masters/MBA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in key account management, preferably within government departments or public sector clients.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Relationship Building: Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, resulting in increased sales and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic account plans, aligning client needs with company objectives.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Leadership: Experience in leading and mentoring a team of account managers is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing sales data, market trends, and financial reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Tech Savviness: Comfortable using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to identify and address challenges effectively.
