PURPOSE OF THE JOB: - Define, propose and implement insurance purchasing policy. - Be the company insurance expert and direct and guide the businesses in such matters. - Continually review the company risk profile to ensure the insurance programs are fit for purpose. - Maintain the group's insurance programs, process claims, and provide advice and guidance to the Business. - Determine appropriate approach to claims management. - Manage the external relationships with service providers including Brokers, Insurers, Claim Handlers and Loss Adjusters. 3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsibilities : - Define, propose and implement a global insurance policy as it applies to the purchase of insurance coverage, the appointment of insurance Brokers, Claim Administrators and other services to support the insurance programs - Actively manage the interface with service providers ensuring quality and delivery of service Maintain and develop service provider relationships through the education of the risk. - Provide advice and guidance as necessary both from a technical and professional perspective. - UNDERWRITING of risks at a Consolidated Group level for all kinds of insurance:- - Key Insurance policies include but are not limited to: - Industrial All-Risk (Property) - Fire Floater (Property) - Erection All- Risk (Property) - Sales Turnover - Commercial General Liability/ Product Liability (Liability) - Directors and Officers Liability (Liability) - Cyber (Casualty) - Crime (Casualty) - Credit Insurance (Casualty) - Terrorism (Casualty) - Standard Fire and Special Perils (Property) - Errors and Omissions (Liability) - Marine and Cargo (Property) - Others - Finalizing insurance policies according to requirements of the entities after evaluation of offers received with relevance to Tariff / Coverage with Optimum Premium, Management approval, etc. two months prior to policy maturity - Innovatively and productively, optimize Total Cost of Insurable Risk (TCOIR) - Monitoring validity of Insurance policies for timely extensions, Renewals and various Insurance related Activities for all units through app based digital tools that are either available as off-shelf and/or customized. - Intranet/ App based Digital Dashboards with access controls of policy (renewal status both pre and post along with tendering options, broker details and final commercials) accessible to HODs and CXOs. CLAIMS MANAGEMENT through automated and digital workflow tool through various toll gates (internal + external) with claim accountability, number, values, and ageing days - Internal toll gates: claim origination, internal legal/ contracts approvals, submission and documentation - External toll gates: survey, admission documentation and collection - Intranet/ App based Digital Dashboards with access controls of claim reviews accessible to HODs and CXOs - Loss minimization drive through an exhaustive and clinical post facto audit of claims, in order to ascertain accountability and recovery CLAIMS : Premium ration target setting for each policy category and tracking through dashboards 4. KEY INTERFACES: External Interfaces:- - Insurance Carriers/ Underwriters - Insurance Brokers - Claim Handlers - Loss adjusters Internal Interfaces:- Executive Management Functional Heads Operational Teams 5. EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE - Master's degree in Business Administration (Insurance), Accounting or related field from an accredited college/university Desired Certifications : - Fellowship course (Insurance Institute of India) Experience Required: - Minimum of 15 years- experience in the Insurance industry - Wide experience in all aspects of insurance and claims handling. - Hands-on experience with implementation of the digital workflow tool to manage and handle claims - Good understanding of contractual and legal principles. - Credibility with the insurance markets through the development of close working relationships and networking - Understands global insurance markets particularly in North America 6. SKILLS REQUIRED: Functional Skills:- - Digital savvy - Deep understanding of the IT Digital tools development and availability - Knowledge of the Insurance Industry, Markets and products and the Company's Insurance Programs - Claims Management and Process - Ability to discuss and negotiate with Insurers and Insurance brokers on technical insurance points. - Insurance Policy Interpretation and Analysis Behavioral Skills:- - Ability to work closely with group CFOs/ CXOs/ functional heads - Sharp interpersonal, communication and influencing skills - Expertise in evaluating and managing insurance brokers, insurers, claim handlers and loss adjusters - Ability to establish rapport, build and maintain effective relationships and gain cooperation from all operating groups. - Ability to take quality decisions, setting priorities, dealing with ambiguity and building effective teams - Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative and handle pressure
