Jubilant Foodworks - Head - Backend Engineering

Job purpose :

To direct and manage the engineering team to achieve project objectives in terms of programme schedule, financial and quality targets. This role will include significant leadership and management responsibility for engineering strategy and direction.

Key accountibilities :

- Managing the technology team for al backend (micro-services) development.

- Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and schedules; manage the day-to-day activities of the backend engineering team by defining, implementing and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy for our product line

- Responsible for the over-all systems development life cycle. Delivery of high quality applications on-time and on-budget

- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments

- Evolution of the software engineering practice within the organization

- Develop the best technical design and approach for new product development

- Hiring and mentoring backend developers and engineering managers.

Technologies being used :

- Languages: Java, NodeJS, GoLang

- Databases: MySQL, Aerospike, MongoDB

- Message Brokers: Kafka, RabbitMQ

- Infra: AWS, GCP

- Frameworks: Drools, Spring, Hibernate etc.

Experience & qualifications :

- Minimum 10 years- strong hands-on experience in Software development

- 3+ years of experience in heading a team of 10+ engineers

- Hands on engineer to deliver high quality codes (able to code himself / herself)

- 10+ years of strong software design/development experience in building massively large scale distributed Internet systems and products.

- Hands-on experience in Advance Java and frameworks, Node.JS/other backend JavaScript frameworks, MySQL/NoSQL, golang, etc.

- Excellent data structure & algorithm and problem solving skills.

- Experience using common Java tools and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts, HTTP, Axis, CXF, Restlet, MVC patterns, Eclipse IDE, SoapUI, Maven, or Ant

- Building n-tier applications (web and server side)

- Experience with Object-Oriented design and analysis including Java design patterns, and Object to Relational Mapping tools

- Mainstream Java application containers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, or Tomcat

- Versioning and change control software such as CVS, SVN, Clear Case, or Git
