JFL is implementing a Data Governance Framework to manage the way we collect, use and share data throughout the organisation. The Data Steward role will be leading this implementation throughout JFL and be responsible for Establish the data quality framework with policies and standards. In addition, the role will enforce and automate data quality monitoring and assurance with emphasis on improving the completeness and accuracy of the information we use to ensure one version of the truth.

The Data Governance & Quality role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong data skills and experience in data governance. The Data Governance & Quality will define data elements and establishes policies and procedures related to the collection and accuracy of data.

This varied role requires stakeholder management, planning, driving issues to resolution and people skills. You will work as a specialist, liaising with the technology team and collaborating with internal data stakeholders.

JFL is conducting a search for an experienced and highly qualified head of Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Management for its operational data store. The ODS will serve the following purposes

- Realtime Dashboards: All real time dashboards for all departments will be built on ODS. This will include real time streaming and monitoring of business KPIs based on structured and unstructured data.

- Read only APIs: All operational read only APIs will be accessed from the ODS. APIs like get order status, get delivery status, get kitchen status, get sales, get stock status and other read-only APIs will come from the ODS.

- Data for Operational Algorithms: The ODS will be virtualized and exposed to analytics team on an analytics workbench. The data scientists will use the analytics workbench to build models for operational nudges. Predicting stock outages, tech outages, models for assigning rider to an order, all will be built from data in ODS.

- Operational Algos and BOTs: The models built above will be deployed on top of ODS. They will be embedded within operational processes to provide a 'SMART' nudge in real time to operations and business teams.

- Feed to A&I Data Lake : This is an operational data store for operational, real time nudges, suggestions and actions. It will NOT be used for long term historical data analytics and modelling. The JFL Data Lake serves that purpose. The ODS will be route via which all operational data will be sent to the Data Lake for further analytics and modelling.

For ODS of all brands and countries, this position will carry the following responsibilities:

- Define, implement and communicate data governance Framework within JFL.

- Review the business processes and work flows needed for strengthening data management and play a major role in identifying, cleaning and assuring the data.

- Ensure that JFL data processes and activity is clearly documented, understood and communicated to international stakeholders.

- Ensure consistent and complete data monitoring and evaluation of quality against agreed standards.

- Creation and management of Meta data dictionary.

- Providing training and support for JFL data users.

- Ensuring compliance of JFL data with regulations.

- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for Stakeholders to monitor data quality.

- Create and maintain ownership accountability of corporate data systems

- Develop standards, policies and procedures to support the creation and provide technical assurance for the on-going implementation of the data governance policy within the business

- Lead the delivery of the data governance programme

- Lead and develop teams across JFL to ensure data governance policies and practices are embedded throughout the company

- Help establish best practice and ownership of the corporate taxonomy and ontology, and develop rules for their use

- Align the data governance programme to the enterprise information strategy

- Embed and align JFL's information security strategy with any data governance programs and initiatives

- Use specialist knowledge and expertise to identify improvements through reducing data redundancy and appropriate data reuse

- Continually assess and identify risks in line with the JFL risk management approach, ensuring they are mitigated and accounted for work within the data governance programme

- Support and supervise information stewardship activities and management of data quality, retention and uses - Develop and enforce data quality metrics outside of the data warehouse

- Identify and develop policies and standards that need to be put in place to ensure the role can be carried out effectively and efficiently

- Support project planning and management to ensure best practice and legal frameworks are followed with regards to data governance

What are we looking for:

Skills:

- At least 10 years' experience in data quality and governance

- Good communication skills in English.

- Experience of SQL (or T-SQL).

- Strong numeracy and good statistical skills

- Analytical and keen attention to detail

- Excellent problem-solving skills.

- Experience of working with retail systems

Desired skills and experience:

- Data visualization skills using Power BI or similar tools.

- Knowledge of the financial system and capital markets.

- A good understanding of GHG accounting methods and sustainability data.

- An awareness of environmental issues, particularly as they relate to our core themes of Climate Change, Deforestation and Water Security.
