Key Result Areas

- Prepare and manage the accounts of the fund entities in Tally

- Responsible for verifying all revenue receipts, investor contributions and expenses

- Match the interest earned and cash flows of the entities vis-A-vis the bank accounts

- Prepare monthly MIS for review and reporting

- Prepare quarterly and annual budgets for the fund entities

- Prepare and file all monthly/quarterly/ annual financial and performance reports

- Enhance operational and financial performance reporting within the organization

- Be responsible for all direct and indirect tax computations, deductions, filings and reporting

- Be thorough with Indian GAAP, IFRS, and latest accounting and tax provisions, including Transfer Pricing, Related Party transactions, etc.

- Be the single point of contact for internal as well as external auditors

- Lead the audit process and ensure timely completion of accurate reports

- All the reports should adhere to Accounting Standards, rules & regulations, policy & procedures

- Highlight financial risk & opportunity from reporting and propose solution

- Work with fund's portfolio companies on setting up IFCs, processes and ensure they adhere to highest standards of reporting

- Work with portfolio companies on setting up standards for monthly MIS and business reporting and review and analyse these for performance monitoring and improvement

- Work with the fund's investment team in analyzing potential investment opportunities, including financial, business and valuation analysis

Duties & Responsibilities :

Management :

- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

- Manage outsourced functions, including liaisoning with tax and compliance consultants

- Manage control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures


- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner

- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable

- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly

- Process payroll in a timely manner

- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed

- Maintain the books of accounts

- Maintain an orderly filing system

- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions


- Issue timely and complete financial statements

- Coordinate the preparation of the annual report

- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations

- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics

- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

- Provide for a system of management cost reports

- Provide financial analyses as needed

Compliance :

- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and to the internal auditors for periodic audit

- Ensure compliance with SEBI, RBI and other applicable regulatory authorities

- Comply with local, state, and Central government reporting requirements and tax filings

Educational Background:

First attempt CA & CS is mandatory, additionally, a Master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field is preferable.

Work Experience :

The controller should have experience of having worked in the F&A function of a leading company, or preferably of a PE/VC fund with 5 years of progressively responsible experience
