Credit Products Delivery (CPD), under Commercial Bank Wholesale Lending Services (WLS), is a dedicated lending & trade finance execution support function with the ultimate goal of providing a superior client experience ensuring timely client focused service whilst retaining a strong risk and control framework locally and partnership with regional and global teams to deliver consistently across J.P. Morgan's Corporate & Investment Bank and Commercial Bank. The team supports the Bankers and Trade Sales and works closely with business partners across Credit, Legal, Compliance and line of business operations to deliver a client focused support model and seamless execution. Role: The individual will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of the support for credit transactions - primarily focusing on lending instruments including term loans, working capital loans, trade financing and arranged overdrafts in India including successful delivery across infrastructure, operating model, resourcing, controls and regulatory framework. In carrying out this role the key responsibility is the facilitation and management of the deal lifecycle from mandate through to execution and serving as the first point of contact for Bankers and Trade Sales, providing transaction support (particularly for cross-border and complex transactions), and managing the document execution and deal closing process. In addition, this role will also involve managing strategic enhancements and executing change initiatives on behalf of CPD and supporting MIS reporting. The role will report to the Head of India Credit Product Delivery. This position will be based in Mumbai, India. Responsibilities include: - Deliver best-in-class documentation negotiation management and transaction execution of credit facilities and ancillary documentation. Maintain oversight of the deal closing process - Review and support front office in negotiating legal documentation across corporate lending categories, with a focus on bilateral and syndicated working capital facilities for India clients - Liaising with internal/external counsel to prepare and review facility documentation - Draw on expertise to suggest solutions for appropriate stakeholders (Bankers, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Operations, etc) as necessary, ensuring they are brought into the deal in a timely manner to reach a resolution - People Management - Lead a team and manage resource, capacity and work-load of the team. Acts as a key point of escalation for BAU issues. - Manage controls framework, reporting and escalation for transaction execution; including preparing and coordinating documentation deviations and approvals during negotiations - Building and managing overall in-country resource plan, including recruitment where required and capacity planning in a changing environment - Development and ownership of location's performance based metrics in support of established business & operational goals - Working with local Regulators to meet and surpass the increasing demands of onshore data and processing requirements, and reporting transparency - Drive WLS CPD wider projects & initiatives Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following experience and skill set: - 15+ years' experience of Credit Administration / Documentation Management / Credit Execution demonstrating strong credit lending product knowledge; a thorough understanding of the transaction cycle of credit documentation; associated risks and regulatory requirements - Strong leadership and management abilities; able to build and lead effective, diverse teams - Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and drive to a resolution - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; interact professionally and confidently with senior deal team members within the Front Office globally - Think strategically and tactically to design process improvement ideas with the flexibility to adjust to new innovations, regulations, and priorities - Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technology environment; must be a change leader - Navigate uncertainty; have the confidence to make decisions and provide direction to individuals - Lead by example; set high standards of performance for self and others - Attention to detail; understanding of the risks and downstream impacts of inaccurate data capture - High degree of numeracy and aptitude for analytical examination of problems; attention to detail being paramount - College degree and minimum 15 years working experience - Fluency in English If you're interested in working in an environment where you can aspire to be the best, execute superbly and be part of a great team and winning culture, then explore this opportunity at J.P.
