Economic Research Junior Analyst/Analyst (Job id: 180120289) J.P. Morgan's Global Knowledge Network Research (GKN Research) in Mumbai was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm's global equity research teams around the world. Since inception GKN Research has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to provide coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with JP Morgan's equity research teams, the Researchers and Analysts in GKN Research are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, strategy, credit derivatives, indices, credit portfolio research, derivatives and quant research. The Economic team is responsible for the production, management and expansion of the macroeconomic database that is used globally for research and analysis by internal and external users. The platform currently parses more than 3 million time-series, covering over 100 countries and 200 sources globally. Sources include national statistical agencies, national banks and international organisations. Most data collection is done by automated scripts. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual with strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability to assist in macroeconomic data management. Responsibilities -&nbsp; - Update and maintain economic time-series data on a daily basis, where timeliness and accuracy is of paramount importance - Liaise with JPM economists to deliver the service and leverage their experience - Work closely with the development team to fix the failures of automated surveys, create new surveys and improve the backend scripts overall. - Contact sources of economic time series data and ensure we are legally entitled to receive and redistribute data. - Suggest ideas for improvement and generally be an active member of the team in all aspects of the job, where the applicant is encouraged to be as creative as possible. Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications - Detail Oriented - Willing and able to take ownership of daily activities, raise issues and seek cooperation where required - Highly motivated team player with organizational and multi-tasking abilities - Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, VBA and other productivity tools - Problem-solving ability and general understanding of databases (knowledge of SQL querying is an advantage) - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Bachelors degree preferably in Economics or Business related disciplines JP Morgan's GKN provides a challenging work environment and excellent opportunities to learn and grow both at the GKN and in the Firm's global network.
