VP - Technology

The Banking Lead India role is a Vice President level role for the India branch of JP Morgan Chase. The candidate would be responsible for all technology deployed within the branch for the Bank. In this role, the candidate would be responsible for the following aspects:

- Project Execution- In order to support the needs of the business and its clients, several projects are undertaken over the course of the year. These projects are a combination of regulatory projects, run the bank projects, client customizations and bespoke client requirements as well as developing new products and service to offer to the clients. These projects are typically done in conjunction with global leads of applications that are part of the solution being developed. The candidate would be required to coordinate new requirements with all stakeholders (product team, operations, compliance etc.) and the global technology teams. They would also need to solution within the apps owned in the branch for local regulatory reporting, operations reporting and last mile connectivity.

- Regulatory Faceoff - The India business is regulated by several regulators. The candidate would need to ensure that the bank is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements as well as negotiate with the regulators where a regulation may not be fully applicable or where there may be alternative mechanisms to demonstrate compliance. This would be in addition to the regularly schedules exams, audits and submissions to the regulators for the bank

- Client Solutioning - In conjunction with the product team, meeting clients to understand their specific needs and then working with the technology organization to develop those solutions. This would involve developing innovative solutions that allow the firm to retain clients by increasing stickiness

Audit and Compliance faceoff - The candidate would be responsible for facing off to the auditors (internal and external) for regularly schedule and adhoc audits at the bank

Skills Required:

- Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field

- Minimum 5-10 years of project management or IT Management

- Good written and spoken communication skills

- Executive presence to partner with Global and local stakeholders

- Hands-on experience with the banking regulations and processes in India

- Hands-on distributed technologist that can help create technology solution that are aligned to the firms technology strategy

- Distributed technical skills Java, RDBMS, Messaging
